Toxicosis in early pregnancy

Despite the fact that the period of expectation of the child is considered the most joyful and happy in the life of a woman, few future mothers do not face such a problem as toxicosis in the early stages. Moreover, often this phenomenon becomes a very real problem, especially if it manifests its activity for up to twelve weeks. This type of condition doctors usually call pathology, because it does not allow the child to get all the necessary nutrients and trace elements from the mother. Often, toxicosis in the early stages is the reason for the hospitalization of the future mother, in order to ensure the fetus the supply of all the necessary substances through medical treatment. It should be noted that frequent vomiting can also cause a lack of oxygen for the baby, which will lead to hypoxia. The most unfortunate outcome, which can lead to toxicosis in the early stages, is the forced termination of pregnancy, but fortunately, such emergency measures are taken at the very last turn.

However, do not think that every woman who is under the heart of her baby, is doomed to torment. Moreover, there are also cases when there is simply no toxicosis, and this is completely normal and makes it easy to carry the pregnancy. The maximum that the expectant mother can feel is mild nausea in the morning and an aversion to some smells, characteristic of all women in the situation.

If we talk about the causes of vomiting in the early stages of pregnancy, then this phenomenon can be due to various circumstances. For example, often the reasons for this are the need to protect the fetus, which organizes the mother's body for the baby's future. Nevertheless, an important role is played by the timing of toxicosis, as it can also indicate problems with the gastrointestinal tract, the presence of liver disease, the inadequate nutrition, and also the strong psycho-emotional stress. Of course, all these factors are far from positive for the future child. As for the physiological causes, which cause toxicosis in the early stages, their availability requires a doctor. If it concerns the psychological state of a pregnant woman, then you should try to help yourself on your own. First of all, it is necessary to rest as often as possible and try to be distracted from bad thoughts and worries for the future child.

The most important thing for a woman who is in happy expectation of a child is the ability to distinguish a real painful toxicosis from the malaise inherent in every future mother. Nausea in the latter case should take place after a meal, and the very presence of it should not bother the future mother more than three, at most four times a day. However, if the urge to vomit does not stop throughout the day, and food intake becomes impossible due to its constant rejection by the body, immediate intervention of specialists is required that will cope with the toxicosis medically and without harm to the future mother and her baby.
