Top "Top Gear": names, photos

Television broadcasts are rarely awarded the title of cult, because keeping constant attention of viewers for a long time is quite difficult. The British telecast about Top Gear cars was successful. The show received the status of a cult, and the leading "Top Gear" became incredibly popular personalities. They are recognized in person in any country of the world, they are immensely adored and are looking forward to appear on the screen. About who leads "Top Gear", we'll talk today.

Start

In 1977, British television received the transfer of Top Gear. It came out at that time in the format of a TV journal and was practically the same as other TV programs about cars. For a long time, the transmission format remained unchanged. When it became clear that something needs to be changed, it was decided to restart "Top Gear". Leaders, whose names were later recognized by the whole world, initially did not participate in the creation of the program, except for Jeremy Clarson and James May.

Reboot show

In 2002, the management of the BBC decided to completely update the program. Its format was changed and new leading Top Gear was invited. They were Richard Hammond, James May and returned to the show Jeremy Clarkson. In addition to this trio, in the filming of the program began to participate test driver Stig, hiding his face behind the helmet.

The decision to reboot turned out to be correct. The new show has acquired its unique, unique style. Leading programs "Top Gear" with their uninhibited manner of conducting the program and humor instantly became favorites of the public. In its best years, the audience of the program reached 360 million viewers.

Jeremy Clarkson

He came to "Top Gear" (photos of the leading programs are presented further) in 1988 and brought a lot of new things: interesting ideas, his original manner of communication and rude humor, often beyond the bounds of what is permissible. But he really liked the audience, and the ratings of the program began to grow. If initially it was watched by only a few hundred spectators, then with the advent of Clarkson, their number began to increase. In 1999, the presenter left the program. The reason was his desire to try himself in new projects. Without eccentric Clarkson, the rating of the program fell, and the BBC management decided to suspend the creation of new issues.

In 2002, Clarkson returns with a proposal for a complete restart of the transmission. Producers and management of the BBC took a chance and did not lose. Top Gear from cognitive TV program became an entertaining bright show, one minute of which cost a lot of money.

Richard Hammond

Before joining the show he worked on radio. Colleagues on the program and fans of the show sometimes call him Hamster. In one of the issues of the program, Hammond, simulating the behavior of a hamster, ate a cardboard tablet. Participation in the show almost ended tragically for the presenter - when piloting a car with jet propulsion, he got into an accident. Everything worked out, but Hammond asked his colleagues not to mention this incident again.

Leaders of "Top Gear" are ardent admirers of cars, and Richard Hammond is no exception. He loves Porsche cars and owns several expensive cars.

James May

Prior to the show, Top Gear worked as a journalist in several editions and hosted two television programs. In 1999 he became co-host of Top Gear. After the reboot, the show returned to him in the second season. For the extremely cautious driving style received from colleagues the nickname Captain Snail.

Stig

The mysterious machine tester remained incognito for a long time. All attempts to find out his name, the leading programs of "Top Gear" have always been reduced to jokes - they said that it was not a person, but a robot, or called "tamed racer". The Stig nevertheless was a full-fledged show host, and his name always stood in the credits to the program. In total, the shooting of the program involved three different Stiga - Perry McCarthy and Ben Collins. Who is hiding under the guise of the third Stig - is unknown.

Care Clarkson and other leading - the show should continue

At the end of March 2015, fans of the show were upset by the shocking news - the oldest show participant standing at the origins of his foundation, Jeremy Clarkson, was fired by the decision of the BBC leadership. The blame was the explosive nature of the presenter. Problems with Clarkson happened before. He was never very cautious in his statements and tactful in his judgments. Repeatedly he had to publicly apologize for his misconduct. The last straw of patience for the BBC was Clarkson's conflict with one of the show's producers about the lack of hot food on the set. On March 25, he was dismissed. The rest of the Top Gear leaders showed solidarity with Clarkson and announced their departure from the show. Now in their plans is a world tour.

Jeremy Clarkson plans to create his show dedicated to cars. The format and the television company, which shelter the disgraced host, is still unknown. He was invited to participate in the humorous BBC program, but in April 2015 he refused to shoot in the show.

If the loss of one party program could survive, then the departure of all put a point in the history of Top Gear. But the company "BBC" decided to try to save one of their best television shows. The names of the new leading programs are already known. Chris Evans, presenter, producer and businessman, was the first to officially announce his participation in the show. He has long been a fan of the program and without hesitation he signed a contract with the BBC for three years.

As the lead lead he was given the opportunity to pick up a new team. Evans chose Sabina Schmitz, the famous German racing driver, for the role of her co-host. Before that, she took part in the filming of several issues of "Top Gear" as a guest guest. Another leading show was the automobile journalist Chris Harris.

David Coulthard - the name of the fourth leading update show. This is a Scottish racing driver and a former Formula 1 pilot. In 2012, he finished his career on the racetrack and is now trying himself in the new role of the presenter.

The most unexpected news was the fact that one of the co-hosts of the program will be the star favorite by many viewers of the series "Friends" Matt LeBlanc. By the way, he will become the first foreign permanent participant of the show for the whole history of his existence. Many fans of the program perceived the appearance of LeBlanc in her as an attempt to decorate the show and draw attention to it. This is not true. Matt LeBlanc is a big fan of cars, he is familiar with many famous racers and tries not to miss a single race of "Formula 1".

The names of the new leading excitement in the fans of the program did not cause. According to most viewers, no one can replace the former participants of the show. Transmission "Top Gear" has already lost about 5 million viewers.

The release of the new Top Gear is scheduled for May 8, 2016. It will then become clear if the BBC managed to gather a bright team capable of eclipsing the former leading Top Gear. Given their popularity, while the success of the updated show is hard to believe.
