Richard Hammond is the host of the Top Gear show. Biography, career

A person who can cause not only admiration, but also a smile of emotion. The favorite of the audience and colleagues on the set. Likhach, an auto mechanic and just a guy who is able to think deeply and communicate his conclusions to society. It is unlikely that modern television could survive without this frame - because few people already represent "Top Gear" without the most charming presenter on the Air Force 2.

Little Richie from Birmingham

Richard Hammond was born on a not so frosty winter day in the late 1960s (namely, December 19, 1969) in a large British family, becoming the next son of a young couple - Alan and Eily. There was this happy event in Birmingham, the Kingdom of Great Britain. In addition to the boy, the couple also had two sons - Nicholas and Andrew.

As a true Briton, Richard Hammond, whose age is now known to all his fans, grew up as a restrained and conservative boy - he did not break his knees, did not get into trouble, but on the contrary - was curious and discovered something new in the world of science and technology.

When the boy turned 16, the family decided to leave their hometown and move to a small market town Ripon, which is located in Yokshire. For a while young Richie attended an average grammar school, but after a yearning for technology, he still prevailed, and he entered the College of Art and Technology. There the guy has fastened a close friendship with one of the academicians (Jonathan Baldwin). Among other things, Hammond also mastered photography courses.

Happy star of the artist

The way to universal recognition in Richie was difficult and very thorny. He started his star career as a young hero as a radio presenter. This work was given to him easily, so it was necessary to combine work at several stations simultaneously. So, he remembered listeners of Radio Newcastle, Lancashire, Cumbria, Cleveland and York.

The beginning of the two thousandths was very successful for Hammond. First, he entered into a legal marriage with his beloved woman (over time, his wife gave him two daughters). Well, and secondly, the hero, finally, was able to break through to the TV screens of American residents.

As they say, if the finest hour has come, you just need to grab luck by the tail and take everything you need from the opportunities provided. And it happened. In "Top Gear" Richard Hammond got in a short time after he came as the leading thematic program on the channel "Mens and Motors." It was in 2002.

But ... not without falling

Thanks to his participation as a key character in the legendary show, Richard Hammond (which was eagerly awaited weekly by not only every self-respecting American, but also any other inhabitant of this planet) still achieved that very vaunted popularity and universal acceptance. So several years passed - the issue after release, the plot behind the plot, the curious story behind the dangerous, and vice versa. Our hero received a funny nickname "hamster" and always justified it in practice - he would eat a cardboard box, or even spend a tube of whitening toothpaste for one tooth at a time. He became a favorite not only of the public, but also of his loyal comrades on the court.

In September 2006, Richard became the tester of the legendary Vampire, trying to break the world record. The testing took place at the former RAF circuit. It so happened that Hammond failed to manage and became a participant in a terrible catastrophe. At that time, no one could guarantee whether the leader would survive. But in spite of fate Richie still climbed out and showed his snow-white after the tube of paste a smile again.

Life outside the wings

Undoubtedly, it was created for the set - Richard Hammond (films with which you are unlikely to see, since he is a showman to the brain of a bone), a favorite of women, teenagers and the most ordinary motorists. Together with his wife and two daughters (Willow and Isabella), he lives in a decent house on the outskirts of Peyford (Glochestershire, which is not far from Cheltenham).

Outside filming, a well-known TV presenter is a wonderful amateur farmer who keeps a small paddock of chickens and sheep. In addition, the Hammond family managed to acquire several dogs and even horses. In general, Richie is a wonderful husband and father, outside the screen he lives a calm and measured life.

Richard Hammond: scientific nonsense

By the time the public was already accustomed to the various tricks of the presenter and slightly even got tired of them, the shocking ideas of the hero did not take long to wait. Richard Hammond introduced the world his new development - a doroguschy bicycle, based on the model of the legendary car - Ferrari. He called his brainchild very intricate - Fahrradi Farfall FFX.

As the developer himself stated, the opening will not travel at the speed of its prototype and does not imitate the roar of the motor, for example. But, in exchange for all this, the bicycle exactly repeats the shape of the car, and besides it costs fabulous money - several times more expensive than the original version.

In general, as you already knew, you still have to twist the pedals. The invention weighs about a centner, which speaks of its uncomplicated filling, but with the original box, as for a bicycle. "Engineering ideas" with Richard Hammond do not cease to amaze - this person, perhaps, still will prove himself in the world of science.

Richie on modern discoveries

The very developer of an outrageous velomobile is very positive about various kinds of novelties of science and technology that relate in any way to the modest world of a motorist. Richie enjoys the use of satellite navigation, postponed warming up of the engine and many other pleasant trifles, which are created in order to make our life more comfortable.

But Hammond has an unrealized dream. As he himself admits, he would very much like to work out (well, or wait for some other researcher to do it) a system that will alert motorists of imminent danger: whether it's a truck that rushes around because of a turn or wild animals running across Way through a few hundred meters.

Showman does not deny: perhaps someone will not like this idea, but still he does not want to stop believing in his bright dream.

Motorists - who are they for Richie?

Probably, the host of the program "Top Gear" should respect what he represents. That is how it is. Despite the fact that Richard Hammond - an avid biker who prefers to travel to the track with a dashing speed and every time to risk his own life for the next dose of adrenaline, yet he respects motorists - from small to large. For him, this category of people - as a separate nation, with its laws, guardians of order and even violators - well, where without them?

In one of the programs, by the way, the presenter complained about truckers. As he himself said, with all his respect for them (and it seems to him that this feeling is mutual with him), it sometimes happens that members of this profession often consider themselves to be the most right on the road. This opinion often arises because of their habit of blocking the route, ostensibly for the safety of all behind those moving. Here is an interesting observation from our hero. Ritchie himself is indignant about this, although he respects the truckers alike - after all, they often give him the place to jump on his bike.

A couple of lessons about life values from the star "Top Gear"

Every fan of this legendary program certainly knows that Richard Hammond is not only a fine tester, an auto mechanic and a racer, but also a well of folk wisdom. In his words you can often hear a deep subtext about our life values and about what each of us cares about somewhere in the soul.

I wonder what our hero would say, being now close to us or having the opportunity to give some farewells for the coming day, so to speak? Perhaps now we would hear from him something like: do not give up what you love, under any circumstances, and if you set a goal for yourself, be kind, do not turn off on your way to your Dream, after all, betraying her, you, in the first place, change yourself.
