This gentle crepe-chiffon

These fashionable women often know about the fabrics of more seamstresses. This is not surprising, because the choice of material for a truly exclusive and stylish stuff needs to be approached thoroughly. So, for example, you need to know what is sewed from this or that fabric: whether silk is suitable for sewing a skirt, what will be the effect if you take Oxford on a shirt ... And in order for a thing to last a long time, it is also necessary to take care of it properly. In addition, choosing the material, you need to consider its composition: whether there are impurities in the wool or silk, and so on. But how many types of weaving exists - do not count! A special way of weaving is crepe. A crepe-chiffon is quite popular. So, let's look at the properties of this fabric.

Why crepe?

This prefix means all fabrics made in a special way of weaving. Crepes appeared relatively recently - the world learned about them in the nineteenth century. Everyone must have heard of crepe de Chine, the favorite fabric of all Soviet women of fashion. So, the French call it the Chinese crepe. Obviously, it was in this country that weavers came up with an original way. One crepe de chine is not limited to the family: there is crepe-satin, crepe-chiffon, and crepe-georgette. All of them are united by the same effect of roughness, granularity (by the way, this is how the general name of the family of tissues is translated). How is it achieved? It's all about strongly twisted threads that alternate in the direction (twisting the twist - the left twist and vice versa). When the canvas is stripped, the threads try to wriggle out, but there it was. Therefore, the fabric becomes so bumpy. However, this does not affect its ease. Crepe is most often painted in one color to emphasize its pattern. The advantages of the entire family include lightness and non-rupture. Therefore, the fabric will lie on the body nicely, it will not be so difficult to take care of it. The group of serfs then entered into fashion, then disappeared from it. Of these materials, dresses and dressings were often made; At all times sewed black mourning bandages and all kinds of shawls. Now it's basically blouses and costumes. One of the most popular representatives of the family is crepe-chiffon material. What are its advantages and disadvantages, how to care for it and what to make of it?

What is this fabric - crepe-chiffon?

Chiffon itself is associated with tenderness, lightness, weightlessness. Chiffon dresses always seem to us frivolous and romantic. However, from this material come out and wonderful skirts or blouses. The main thing is not to overdo things with transparency, which would emphasize your femininity and figure, allowing you to wear chiffon. Crepe-chiffon (photo is presented in the article) is a bit denser than usual chiffon. It is woven in a coherent way, hence the name. The square meter of this silk fabric weighs only thirty-five grams. This, for example, is almost ten times lighter than the crepe-satin meter. Crepe chiffon is rarely sold bleached - often monochrome painted or stuffed, that is, with a pattern. The surface of this fabric is most often matte, however, the chiffon with a sputtering glitter shines. Often he has neither face nor side. It is very pleasant to the touch: thin, light, glides between the fingers. At the same time, the crepe-chiffon also has its disadvantages: it is very difficult to process, since it is not particularly obedient when cutting and sewing. For sewing, very thin threads and needles are used, make many stitches with small stitches.

What to sew of crepe-chiffon?

You can not resist the transparent dress that will only adorn the girl. In the summer without such a thing simply can not do. But from crepe-chiffon you can make things and wear them at any time of the year and almost for any reason. The same dress, complemented by thick knitted, textured or smooth pantyhose or stockings and volumetric sweater, will look pretty late in the fall. The same applies to the chiffon skirt. The crepe-chiffon dress for appearance in the light looks effectively, gently and elegantly. All kinds of shawls, scarves and bandages - this is also the "handiwork" crepe-chiffon. Not bad accessories are obtained with a transparent light ribbon of material: you can string on it massive beads - and you are ready to have a necklace or bracelet! Crepe chiffon can be draped perfectly. So why not make such a canopy for the bed? Or just do not use the canvas as a curtain? This will add freshness and chic to your room. In addition, crepe-chiffon is very resistant to burnout.

How to care for products?

It should be said that to treat this fabric is extremely careful. So, it is not recommended to wash it yourself. It is better to go to the dry cleaning or very gently wash the product.
