Chingiz Mustafayev - life in a moment

In the recent history of Azerbaijan, the Karabakh war left a big mark - it claimed thousands of lives and so many people dared to run. People still can not recover from the pain associated with the loss of their near and dear lands. One of such families is Mustafayev, where Genghis Mustafayev was born - a TV journalist who until the last minute of his life covered the course of the war.

Biography

August 29, 1960 in the family of Fouad and Nahyshgz Mustafayevs son was born - Chingiz Mustafayev. His life's biography is short, but bright. At that time the family lived in the Astrakhan region and in 1964 moved to Baku. Before the beginning of his career, the television journalist studied at the military school named after Jumshud Nakhchivansky, and after completing his studies at school number 167 of the Yasamal district. He graduated from Azerbaijan Medical University. Worked as a doctor by profession in the Devechi district, and later as head physician at a sanatorium at the Institute of Building Engineers.

In addition to the work, Chingiz Mustafayev was interested in art - he created the musical center "Disco", was a member of the folklore group "Ozan" and the youth studio "Impromptu".

But the reporter's work was more important to him than the profession of doctor and hobbies - the future reporter made several important stories Bloody January in 1990. In 1991 he opened the studio "215 KL", an important mission of which was to transmit the latest frontline news. The television journalist quickly fell in love with the Azerbaijani public due to the broadcasts of "215 KL presents", "Face to face," "Nobody will be forgotten." The reporter's talent allowed him to also meet with people known in the Soviet Union: M. Gorbachev, A. Mutalibov, B. Yeltsin, N. Nazarbayev. This is not a complete list of people with whom Chingiz Mustafayev was talking.

The beginning of the Karabakh war was the starting point in the career of Chingiz Mustafayev as a television journalist - he went to the war zone, communicated with soldiers and interviewed, took a shootout between the warring sides. In the archives, video recordings have been preserved, in which he encourages the Azerbaijani soldiers and calls to return to the Shushu, occupied by the Armenians.

On the night of 25 to 26 February 1992, the bloodiest and cruelest event of the Karabakh war was the Khojaly genocide. On February 28, Chingiz Mustafayev and a group of journalists on two helicopters could fly to the place of tragic events, but due to the helicopter bombardment, the Armenian side, except for 4 bodies, could not take anyone away. On March 2, a group of foreign journalists flew to the scene of the tragedy. With them was Chingiz Mustafayev, who also removed the consequences of the tragedy - the bodies of women, children, old men shot at point-blank range and with their eyes pinned. Probably, the shooting of the Khojaly massacre - the mass killing of Azerbaijanis by the Armenian armed forces - is the most important contribution of Chingiz Mustafayev to the chronology of the history of his native country. According to the investigation of the Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on the night of 25 to 26 February, 613 people died. The fate of 150 people is still unknown.

The tragic death

June 15, 1992 in the village of Nakhichevanik were fierce battles. Chingiz Mustafayev shot off the offensive of Azerbaijani troops when he was fatally wounded by a fragment of mines. The still camera was still shooting ...

The well-known TV journalist was posthumously given the title of National Hero of Azerbaijan and was buried at the Walk of Fame in Baku.

The fate of Genghis was predetermined?

Perhaps the fate of the military television journalist was already predetermined. Why? He was born into a military family, his maternal grandfather returned from an invalid war, and his uncle, unfortunately, did not return. It's worth mentioning about his uncle from his father's side - Chingiz Mustafayev, after whom the journalist was named. During the repressions of the 1930s he was among 17 detainees. 16 of them pleaded guilty, and Chingiz Mustafayev (senior) - no. Tortured, he returned to Goychay and soon died. He was only 20 years old.

Living Memory

They say that the memory of a man is alive, as long as the people who remember him are alive. Of course, his family knew best of all the deceased. Mother - Nahyshgiz Mustafayeva still can not believe in the loss of her son and everything is waiting for him to knock on the door. Of course, these are thoughts that are no longer fated to come true ... She notes that her sons and grandchildren can support her as much as they can. Vahid and Seyfulla Mustafayeva are co-founders of one of the large groups of ANS companies, which bears the name of Chingiz Mustafayev. The group of companies AND includes radio ANS, Film studio, press center, publishing house, advertising company. ANS successfully cooperates with well-known in Europe media and film companies.

The son of Chingiz Mustafayev - Fuad, is studying in Germany at the Faculty of Economics. When a young man arrives in Baku, he, like his father, along with military journalists, removes the events of the current, still not quenched conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Father Fuad knows only according to relatives - he was only 9 months old when Chingiz Mustafayev died. The photo below shows how similar the father and son are.
