The tick of what is afraid? Remedy for ticks for people. How to remove the tick safely

Mites are blood-sucking insects that can really spoil your summer vacation! And unlike mosquitoes, which mostly bring only temporary inconveniences, these arachnid parasites strive not only to drink our blood, but also to infect with diseases. Further in the article we will find out how dangerous the tick can be, what this arthropod is afraid of and how to protect it from it.

Effects

You will not bring a mite bite discomfort, it is painless. The problem is that during it the parasite can infect. And we are talking about serious diseases: tick-borne paralysis, typhus, encephalitis and Lyme disease. The last two ailments, speaking in a simple way, are an inflammation of the brain and the defeat of the nervous system with the locomotor system in addition. Diseases are very serious, from which the fully cured patient is a lucky man!

Voluntary apartment arrest?

So what should I do? Is it really necessary to stay at home all summer long, limiting your way out to the street while the tick lives and multiplies? What the parasite is afraid of, we'll find out later. Now some general words about the ways of protection. So, today there are various remedies for ticks. All of them are based on chemistry and allow either to scare off the parasite or to destroy it. Effective remedies for ticks are divided into three types. The first include repellents. To the second - acaricidal substances. But the most effective means of ticks are combined preparations. They combine the useful properties of repellents and acaricides.

Types of drugs

The most common remedy for ticks for people is repellent. This category includes sprays, ointments, creams and gels. Their main goal is to scare off the parasite. With their help you can take care of yourself and your loved ones before going on a nature or going to the city park. In nature everything is very simple: if you could show that it is dangerous - you will not be touched. Repellents are based on diethyltoluamide (abbreviated as DETA), and it scares off parasites. Due to low toxicity, DETA-based products can be applied not only to clothes, but also to the skin. Before going out to fresh air, you must first treat the cover in places where there are no clothes. By the way, things should be on elastic bands and fit snugly to the body. Pay special attention to places of joints of garments. The principle of action of diethyltoluamide is simple - impurities are released into the air, which frighten off the parasite. That's what smells are afraid of mites. Therefore, hardly having smelled aroma of a preparation, they from the intention to bite you will refuse.

All in it you will not be plunged

In principle, the work of DETA is also its weakness. To completely protect yourself, you must literally bathe in the preparation and soak them well. This, of course, is impossible. And most importantly - if you suddenly decide to take a bath like this, we remind you that diethyltoluamide does not have toxicity, but very low! Preparations on its basis are contraindicated to babies up to three years. True, there are "light" funds for ticks for children with special compounds. So, it is necessary to be smeared, creating artificial barriers for a parasite. How effective are these remedies for ticks? Reviews of the majority of consumers in general, of course, are positive. People who used drugs based on DETA, speak about their effectiveness, speed. In general, they cope with their "frightening" task. But there are also minuses of repellents. So, the drugs can be washed off with water. In addition, the concentration of DETA should be at least 30%. And, at last, the most important thing: these preparations operate only about five hours. During this time, no tick will sit on you. What is the fear of an arthropod, besides repellents?

No parasite - no problem

The second group of drugs acts more radically. Acaricides are very effective against ticks. They first paralyze the pest, and then kill. Severely, but, as practice shows, extremely effective. The main substance in such preparations is alpha-cypermethrin. How this remedy works against ticks, we have already described. But I must say that it has a very negative effect on a person, since it is very toxic. Use the drug carefully. Do not apply on open skin. And, of course, you should avoid accidentally getting it in your mouth or eyes. Any tool for treatment against ticks based on alpha-cypermethrin is intended for application to clothing. How is this best done? Before leaving for nature, you need all things in which you intend to walk, decompose, carefully opened all the folds, and treat with aerosol. After that, waiting for him to dry, put on and go to the planned event. There are acaricides for about two weeks. In addition to toxicity, these sprays have one more disadvantage. Using only acaricides, you leave your skin unprotected. If the parasite can penetrate under the clothes, only the accident will save you from the bite.

Complex preparations

Logic suggests: the remedy for ticks for people, combining the functions of the first two species, will become an ideal protection. Preparations of a combined type (insecticidally-repellent) are created on the basis of already familiar alpha-cypermethrin and diethyltoluamide. Considering that, in fact, the third type of drugs is a banal mixture of the first two in one bottle, the obtained product "inherits" the basic positive properties of the two components described above. But at the same time the complex drugs go and minuses. This, in particular, is relatively high toxicity, non-water resistance, short period of action. Four hours - this is the maximum during which you will be able to fully protect insecticide-repellents. Nevertheless, for a small hour and a half walk is an excellent choice. During this time, no tick will sit on you. What the parasite is afraid of in general, we found out. Next, the names of the most common drugs should be listed. The means of Russian production include "DEFI-anti-cell", "Medifoks-antiklesch", "Fumitoks-antiklesch", "Kra-Rep", "Taran-anti-cell", "Tundra - protection against ticks", "Kapkan-anti-clams". Also advised is the Italian drug "Gardex Extreme" (aerosol) and the Czech remedy "Mosquitol-anti-cell" (special protection).

Universality is not always a blessing

How do I go about going on a long trip to nature? It is best to use a non-prepared universal mixture, and immediately repellents and acaricides separately. Your clothes, treated with acaricide before the trip, will be protected for several weeks, and spraying with repellent spray itself every three to four hours is not such a big problem. To apply to the skin of adults, experts advise such drugs as "DEFI-Taiga", "DETA-VOKKO", "GALL-RET", "GALL-RET-CL", "Reftamide Maximum". All this is Russian means. From abroad, take a closer look at the cream "Biban" from Slovenia and Italian means "Off! Extreme", "Gardex Extreme". Children treat cream "Phthalar", "Efkalat" or "Kamarant". You can use helium "Off-child" and "Biban-gel" to protect children from tick bites. Or use repellent colognes "Pihtal", "Evital". For clothes, use acaricides from Russia: "Taft Refetamide", "Pretex", "Picnic-Antiklesche". They speak well of the Italian means "Gardex-anti-cell", "Permanon", "Tornado-Anti-cell".

Not chemistry of a single

Discussing the means of defense, we mentioned clothes several times. It is just as important in protecting against ticks as are chemical preparations. The minimum requirements for your apparel in nature are as follows: all things should be on elastic bands around the edges in order to exclude the ingress of ticks onto the untreated skin. In addition, clothing should cover the maximum of the surface. There is a special outfit for going to nature. Its direct purpose is to protect it from ticks. As an example, you can cite the antiancephalitis (domestic) suit "BioStop". It met all the requirements for clothing for safe outdoor walks. There is a suit of trousers and jackets on puffs. An important detail is a hood with mosquito net. On the entire surface of the costume "BioStop" there are ruffles with an acaricidal preparation. The manufacturer assures that the effectiveness of this suit in combination with footwear on a thick sole is 100%. The need for additional processing is not already sounded drugs. There are also so-called encephalitis. Such suits, invented by folk craftsmen, in fact, are simply a form of clothing recommended for walking in nature. It defends, frankly speaking, extremely weakly.

If the parasite still bites

What if you came home and found a tick on you? First, do not panic. However, once a parasite is detected, the necessary measures should be taken immediately. How to remove the tick correctly? The procedure is very careful. The most important thing is not to let the insect break into two parts when you pull it out. The smaller the size of the parasite, the more difficult it will be to eliminate it.

How to remove an insect from the body?

There are three main ways to remove the tick yourself. If the size of the parasite is sufficient to grab it with your fingers or tweezers, the insect can be tried to unscrew from the body. The tick is inserted clockwise. Eliminate it should be, twisting in the opposite direction. At the same time, it is necessary to grasp the parasite as closely as possible to the surface of the body. You can also use oil to remove. They should lubricate the area where the insect stared. The oil will block the access of oxygen to the mite, and he will get out himself. After it can be removed without much difficulty. The insect is also extracted with the help of a thread. A little loop is made of it and put on the parasite's body. Then, with gentle movements, try to pull it out. But I must say that this method is not applicable if the tick is small.

Our little brothers

Cats and dogs also need to be protected from ticks. These arachnid parasites, in fact, do not care who bites. For animals, the main way to protect against ticks is the smell. The first and easiest way to protect a pet is to buy a special collar. The second is laborious, but also more reliable - treat the animal with special aerosols and ointments. You need to do this once every few weeks, it all depends on the pet's coat of the pet. In the first days after treatment with drugs, animals can not be washed.

When choosing a remedy, it should be borne in mind that fleas that threaten the health and life of pets can vary depending on the range of their habitat. Malicious microorganisms, typical for Russia, are often resistant to antiparasitic drugs developed and produced in Europe. In addition, European drugs are developed with an "eye" on the composition of parasites living in Europe, without taking into account the characteristics of the Russian parasitic flora. Owners of domestic animals living on the territory of Russia are advised to use modern means of domestic parasites for their pets, for example, the products of the Dana Ultra line: antiparasitic collars, drops on the withers and sprays for wool processing from the leading Russian producer Api-San.

The main thing - without panic

And remember: no matter how much we wanted, there is no one hundred percent protection against ticks. There is always a small chance that you will be bitten. In this case, do not panic! If you feel that you do not have enough experience to eliminate insects, contact the doctor right away. He will work on extracting the parasite, and studying it, and at the same time will tell if there is cause for concern. Well, the last tip. Returning from a walk, carefully examine yourself and your loved ones. This needs to be done, even if you before the release of nature led the processing of leather and clothing.
