The drug 'Finlepsin'. Reviews, description, indications

The drug "Finlepsin Retard" is an anticonvulsant, a derivative of tricyclic iminostilbene. The active ingredient is carbamazepine.

The drug "Finlepsin Retard" (reviews of specialists testify to this) has a moderate antidepressant and normotime effect. The therapeutic effectiveness of the medication is mainly associated with a slowing of the synaptic spread of excitation and, consequently, a decrease in the development of convulsive attacks.

Medication "Finlepsin" (patient reviews indicate this) contributes to the elimination of pain in neuralgia in the trigeminal nerve. This effect is due to the slowing of the synaptic spread of stimulation in the region of the spinal cord in the trigeminal nerve.

Against the background of diabetes insipidus, the drug has an anti-diuretic effect, which is probably associated with a hypothalamic effect on osmoreceptors.

After taking the pill inside, the absorption is slow. In plasma, the maximum drug content is noted after four to sixteen hours, in children after about four to six hours.

When taking long-acting tablets (Finlepsin Retard), the concentration of the drug in the blood is lower than with conventional tablets.

The drug is prescribed for epilepsy to eliminate partial seizures with elementary (with Jackson convulsions) and complex (psychomotor convulsions) symptoms. The drug is indicated for large epileptic attacks, focal nature in particular (with diffuse or nocturnal epilepsy), and also with mixed epileptic forms.

Medication "Finlepsin" (expert reviews are unambiguous in this) should be used for neuralgia of the trigeminal nerve, as well as for relieving pain in diabetic neuropathy. The testimony also includes genoinic glossopharyngeal neuralgia.

The drug "Finlepsin" (the doctors' testimonies confirm this) is effective in non-epileptic convulsions in patients with multiple sclerosis (with trigeminal neuralgia, paroxysmal ataxia and dysarthria, tonic convulsions, bouts of pain and so on).

The medication is prescribed as prophylaxis of manic-depressive phases in the absence of the effect of lithium therapy (in case patients are contraindicated in lithium administration or they experience changes in the fast phase against the background of its administration).

Medication "Finlepsin" and alcohol.

The drug is used to prevent convulsive seizures against the background of the withdrawal syndrome.

The use of the drug "Finlepsin".

The reviews of many doctors suggest that therapy should be started cautiously, with the use of low doses. The exact amount of the drug is determined individually, based on the nature of the pathology. Subsequently, depending on the condition, the dosage is adjusted. Based on clinical experience, the optimal concentration of the drug in the patient's plasma is from 4 to 12 μg / ml. Taking into account these figures, the necessary dose is also selected.

Replacement of one antiepileptic medicament with Finlepsin medication is carried out gradually. For a more painless transition from one drug to another, the dosage of the previous preparation is gradually reduced. Experts recommend (if possible) use antiepileptic medication as a monotherapy. Treatment is carried out under medical supervision.

Usually the initial dosage of the drug "Finlepsin" is 200-400 milligrams. Gradually the dose rises to 800-1200 milligrams.

The amount of the drug and the regimen for children should be determined by the doctor.

The duration of the drug depends on the patient's tolerance and indications. Typically, the treatment of epileptic conditions is a long period.

Cancellation of the medicine is carried out gradually. As a rule, dosage reduction is carried out within 1-2 years.

Before taking the drug "Finlexin" you should consult with your doctor for the presence (or absence) of contraindications.
