The program for viewing DVD - what to choose?

What is "DVD", knows now, probably, everyone. The disks of this format have gained wide popularity and are no less popular due to their convenience - the films recorded on them are of high quality, and the form itself is quite convenient.

Digital Versatile Disc (that's what the abbreviation DVD stands for) started to gain popularity in the late nineties, gradually replacing the usual VHS cassettes from the market. Of course, the majority liked this: first, the cassettes were already boring, and secondly, their capacity can not be compared with the capacity of DVD-disks: while the cassettes hold one or two films at a maximum, DVD discs allowed to contain much more. Among other things, the film in the cassettes was not eternal, and the image quality was reduced after each viewing: the picture faded, lines appeared and the like.

DVDs allowed to hold about five or six films on each side, so if the disc was two-sided, it could fit up to ten or twelve films. True, the first CDs differed in poor quality picture and an eerie translation, since most of them were pirated. However, over time, the market more and more filled with quality, licensed analogs, looking through which, you could enjoy a clean sound and quality picture.

Watching DVDs on the computer became popular not immediately. At first, it was simply not possible to watch movies on the monitor, since the program for viewing DVD movies was not invented. With its invention, DVD players have come to the foreground - the computerization of society has led to the fact that watching movies on the computer has become much more convenient, and then more familiar.

Now there are a lot of similar programs, and most importantly - to choose the one that will most like it. Any DVD viewer program can be assigned one of the following conditional types:

- Free programs;

- Paid programs.

At first glance, you might think that there is not much difference between them, but this is not the case at all. Differences exist not only in the interface, but also as playback, the quality of audio characteristics, the ability to play various video formats.

Any paid program for watching DVD a priori will play movies in better quality, the level of sound effects will also be better. In addition, many of them support the function of viewing Blu-ray format files, one of the most promising and high-quality at the moment. The functionality of paid analogs will also be greater.

However, an ordinary user who is not a malicious connoisseur and a notorious film critic, a free program for watching DVD is quite suitable, whereas a real film-man is unlikely to limit himself to it and prefer paid analogues.

Examples include the following programs:

WinAmp - one of the most popular and certainly the most famous of the now existing media player, free and distributed free of charge.

GOM Player is a very powerful and high-quality Korean program for watching DVD, it can compete for its functionality and its capabilities with the most famous and high-quality multimedia players.

Zoom Player is a software product that can work with most of the known modern video formats. It is characterized by sufficiently low requirements for computer system resources and works well with voluminous playlists.

BS.Player FREE is a free and freely distributed DVD viewer that supports all popular video and audio formats, and is also suitable for viewing video directly from digital cameras. Is able to automatically find and download subtitles to video.

Of course, this is only a small part of existing media players. The program for viewing DVD discs is an important element, the choice of which should be approached wisely, preferring, in the final analysis, exactly the one that will work most comfortably.
