The population of England: culture, traditions and features of mentality

England, Great Britain, Foggy Albion ... How many emotions and feelings cause these names in some people! And this applies not only to the indigenous inhabitants of this country. English culture at all times was interesting to very different peoples. Still, because literary works, music and painting reflect that special atmosphere, which is inherent only in the United Kingdom. The population of England is a very special people. Consistence, a certain mindset, calmness - these are the main features of the overwhelming number of Englishmen.

Ethnic composition and number of inhabitants of the United Kingdom

80% of UK residents are just English. In addition to them, the population of England also includes Welsh (or, as they are also called, Welsh), Scots and Irish. An insignificant percentage is coming from the former British colonies, such as Pakistan, Vietnam, India. However, all those who are officially residing in England are called British.

The population of England is impressive. It is approximately 53 million people, while in the United Kingdom there are about 63 million people. Among them: the Scots - around 5 million, the inhabitants of Wales - 3 million, well, and Northern Ireland - just over 1 million.

Now let's talk a little about the "distribution of labor". The population of England is 93% of workers and employees. Different small farms make up 5%, well, and a part of the big bourgeoisie is completely insignificant - only 2%.

This country has a very high population density. England (the population of which, as already said, is half a billion people) on each of its square kilometer focused on about 230 people. Here, too, the level of urbanization is very high (that is, the share of cities far exceeds the share of villages).

The population of England: culture, traditions and features of mentality

The British are known for their stiffness. However, this does not prevent them from creating magnificent works of art, sometimes quite difficult to comprehend, but invariably very fascinating and profound. Some of the most famous English writers are Oscar Wilde, Lewis Carroll, William Shakespeare, Philip Pullman, Stephen Fry, Sisters Bronte and many, many others.

It is believed that the British have a keen sense of justice. No wonder it was in England that the first Parliament in the world was established.

Residents of England are trying to clearly observe all the rules, even unwritten. One such rule, for example, is the tea ritual. Mandatory tea is served in all English families in the afternoon. Tea drinking is accompanied by the implementation of special rules. Before you pour a drink into your cup, you must first offer it to everyone else. A small sieve is necessarily used: the presence of tea leaves is unacceptable! In addition, the refusal of a cup of tea is a sign of bad taste.

One of the good English traditions is the desire of everyone to get a quality education. Most students in higher education receive knowledge, but do not go there solely for the sake of obtaining a scientific degree and doing everything somehow. This is also manifested national stiffness.

The English people are very interesting. A huge number of traditions, features of culture and subtleties of the mentality make it a very curious subject for study.
