The modern Ice Palace - Surgut is delighted!

At the end of 2011 in the city of Surgut, Tyumen region, solemn events were held. In sports life an important event occurred - a new, large, convenient Ice Palace was commissioned and put into operation. For a long time Surgut was waiting for the entry of this object. Earlier sports battles were held on the hockey box of the palace "Olympic". The ice arena of this club was not suitable for the official standard. There was not a covered skating rink in the city for mass skating. The Palace of Sports solved most of the problems.

Opening of the Ice Palace

Natalya Komarova, Governor of Yugra, cut a red ribbon and solemnly opened a new Sports Palace. Memorable inscription "Good luck always!" The head of the district left on the washer, decorated with a colorful logo. On the new ice arena the right to score an honorable first goal with this washer was received by the mayor of Surgut Dmitry Popov.

The opening ceremony was held with the participation of city children's hockey teams, artists from the city of Yekaterinburg, who came with the ballet "The Nutcracker", and the winners of the Olympics, figure skating champions Roman Kostomarov and Tatiana Navka.

All were satisfied, the residents received the newest Ice Palace, equipped with the latest sport standards, Surgut got the necessary, significant for the city structure.

Stages of construction

The construction of an important facility for the city was entrusted to the SFC Surgutgazstroy, the company that won the tender and became the general contractor. The building project was approved and put into operation in 2006. For a while, they took preparatory measures. At the end of 2008, the first pile was packed. Construction took three years. The palace was put into operation at the beginning of 2011, but the facility could not be put in at the appointed time. Not always the project financing was at the proper level, but the main reason for the delay was a big fire at the very beginning of the year, which pushed the surrender of the palace for several more months. Then nearly two thousand square meters of the area were damaged, the facade of the building was badly burnt , half finished.

For the construction of the "Ice Palace" object, Surgut spent about two billion rubles, most of which (and this is 1.6 billion rubles) is allocated by the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.

The new facility is the first stage of the multifunctional modern sports complex "Yugra".

The Sports Palace is located almost in the center of the city, at the crossroads of Dzerzhinsky and Engels streets with the Ugra tract. Nearby is the city administration and Surgut University.

The modern arena

The grandiose structure is located on an area of about twenty-two thousand square meters, it includes a large ice arena, functioning all year round. The stands around it accommodate two thousand spectators. Its equipment makes it possible to hold competitions of different levels for winter types - from urban to All-Russian. All week the ice arena is busy, a very busy schedule, a break of 15 minutes is done to change groups or pour ice.
