The origin of life on Earth

For many centuries, mankind has unsuccessfully tried to answer the question of how the origin of life on Earth occurred. This topic has been of interest to many people, and not only scientists and researchers. It would seem that science is moving forward, scientists are constantly surprising us with new discoveries, and the birth of life on Earth, its mechanism remains incomprehensible for mankind. And this is natural, since in the past we still can not glance, and all the theories known to us today are based not on facts, but only on inferences.

We know that the history of life on Earth has more than one millennium. There are many theories of its origin. Some of them seem absurd, others are just unlikely. In the Middle Ages, the main disputes about the origin of the universe and the origin of life on Earth were between materialists and idealists. Of course, humanity does not stand still in its development, and theories that explain the birth of life on earth are becoming increasingly new theses. The most realistic are hypotheses such as the theory of evolution, the hypothesis of panspermia and creationism.

In 1865, the German scientist Hermann Eberhard Richter put forward the hypothesis of panspermia, according to which life on earth was brought from outer space to the planet Earth. She explains the appearance of life on Earth by the fact that meteorites carry the embryos of life from one celestial body to another. In this case, this hypothesis of the emergence of life does not explain in any way, considering that life exists by itself.

Since the school day, we know about the natural selection that formed the basis of the theory of evolution proposed by Charles Darwin. Naturally, the theory was not preserved in the form proposed by its scientist, but despite this, its main principle can be expressed in simple words: evolution from simple to complex.

For people of religious and believers, there are no other hypotheses for the emergence of life on Earth, except for creationism. This theory is due to the appearance of Christian scholars. According to the concept of creationism, all life on earth was created by God or the Creator. The concept has two sources: firstly, these are Christian texts that describe the process of the creation of the world by the Creator, and secondly, there are many scientific facts that can not be explained if viewed from the Darwinian theory of evolution.

Whatever it was, but to this day no one has been able to unequivocally determine how the origin of life on Earth occurred. Any theory from the set of available ones is criticized, any derived thesis can be challenged. So far, there is not a single fact that confirms or refutes this or that theory. And mankind continues to develop, new theories, hypotheses and concepts appear, every scientist and researcher wants to prove that his theory is true. But the fact remains that until now no one has been able to answer this question. Do we really need to know the answer?
