So, in many spheres of our life the principle "everything new is a well-forgotten old" operates. Fashion figures, without embarrassment, take new ideas from old grandmother's trunks. But art itself is so multifaceted that it manages to survive and be different even now.

The term "contemporary art" was introduced by Rosalind Krauss, an American analyst and art historian. It was born in the 1960s and 1970s. Sometimes it is opposed to modernism, sometimes attributed to it.

With the passage of time, postmodernism nevertheless gained its individuality, denying the techniques of modernity. The art of the 21st century has changed dramatically since then, then merging with minimalism and expressing the ideas of feminists of the time, then in the 80s, once again acquiring the brightness of colors and pretentiousness of the image.
