If it were not for their selfless work, a man could not fly in an airplane, cross the oceans on huge liners and even simply turn on an electric kettle. All these selfless researchers have made the face of the world the way modern people see it.

Discoveries of Galileo

The learned physicist Galileo is one of the most famous. He is a physicist, an astronomer, a mathematician and a mechanic. It was he who first invented the telescope. With the help of this device, unprecedented at that time, it was possible to observe distant celestial bodies. Galileo Galilei is the founder of the experimental direction in physical science. The first discoveries that Galileo made with the telescope, saw the light in his work "Star Herald." This book was truly a sensational success. Since Galileo's ideas were in many ways contrary to the Bible, the Inquisition pursued him for a long time.

Biography and discoveries of Newton

The great scientist, who made discoveries in a variety of areas, is also Isaac Newton. The most famous of his discoveries is the law of universal gravitation. In addition, the scientist-physicist explained many natural phenomena based on mechanics, and also described the features of planetary motion around the Sun, Moon and Earth. Newton was born on January 4, 1943 in the English town of Woolsthorpe.

After graduating from high school, he entered college at Cambridge University. Scientists-physicists, who taught in college, had a great influence on Newton. Inspired by an example of teachers, Newton made several of his first discoveries. Mostly they concerned the sphere of mathematics. Further, Newton begins to conduct experiments on the decomposition of light. In 1668 he received a master's degree. In 1687 the first serious scientific work of Newton - "The Beginning" - was published. In 1705, the scientist was awarded the title of knight, and the reigning British Queen Anna in that era personally thanked Newton for his research.

Female physicist: Maria Curie-Sklodowska

Scientists-physicists all over the world still use in their work and the achievements of Maria Curie-Sklodowska. She is the only female physicist who was nominated twice for the Nobel Prize. Maria Curie was born on November 7, 1867 in Warsaw. As a child, a tragedy occurred in the girl's family - her mother and one of her sisters were killed. While studying at the school, Maria Curie was noted for her diligence and interest in science.

In 1890 Maria Curie moved to her older sister in Paris, where she entered the Sorbonne. Then she met and her future husband - Pierre Curie. As a result of years of scientific research, the couple discovered two new radioactive elements - radium and polonium. Shortly before the outbreak of war, a radium institute was opened in France, where Maria Curie held the position of director. In 1920, she published a book called Radiology and War, in which her scientific experience was generalized.

Albert Einstein: one of the greatest minds of the planet

Scientists-physicists of the whole planet know the name of Albert Einstein. His authorship belongs to the theory of relativity. Modern physics largely relies on the views of Einstein, despite the fact that not all modern scholars agree with his discoveries. Einstein was a Nobel Prize laureate. During his lifetime he wrote about 300 scientific papers dealing with physics, as well as 150 works on the history and philosophy of science. Before the age of 12, Einstein was a very religious child, as he received education in a Catholic school. After little Albert read several scientific books, he concluded: not all positions in the Bible can be truthful.

Many believe that Einstein was a genius from the very childhood. This is far from the case. As a schoolboy, Einstein was considered a very weak student. Although already then he was interested in mathematics, physics, as well as philosophical works of Kant. In 1896, Einstein entered the Faculty of Education in Zurich, where he also met his future wife - Mileva Marich. In 1905, Einstein published some articles, which, however, some physicists criticized. In 1933, Einstein permanently moved to the United States.

But there are other known names of scientists-physicists who made no less significant discoveries in their field. This is VK Roentgen, and AD Sakharov, S. Hawking, N. Tesla, L. L. Landau, N. Bohr, M. Planck, E. Fermi, E. Rutherford, M. Faraday, A. A. Becquerel and many others. Their contribution to physical science is no less important.
