The drug "Fliksonase" (nasal spray) belongs to the category of drugs that have glucocorticosteroid activity. The active component is fluticasone.

The "Fliksonase" medication is recommended for allergic rhinitis. The drug has a pronounced anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edematous effect.

The interaction of the agent with glucocorticosteroid receptors provides an anti-inflammatory effect. At the same time, the active ingredient has an overwhelming effect on the proliferation (proliferation) of mast cells, neutrophils, macrophages, lymphocytes, eosinophils. Fluticasone reduces the production of certain biologically active products and inflammatory mediators (cytokines, leukotrienes, prostaglandins, histamine including) in the early and late period of an allergic reaction. The drug is able to have a rapid anti-inflammatory effect on the nasal mucosa.

Antiallergic effect of the drug "Fliksonase" is noted after the first injection after two to four hours. The agent helps to reduce rhinorrhea, itching and stuffiness in the nose, sneezing, discomfort. Reduction in the severity of allergy manifestations (especially nasal congestion) persists throughout the day after a single dose of 200 μg.

Characterizing the drug "Fliksonase", the instruction indicates the lack of systemic action (when used in therapeutic doses).

The drug is designed only for intranasal use. Specialists recommend using the medication regularly to achieve full therapeutic effectiveness.

For patients from the age of 12, the "Fliksonase" agent recommends that the administration be prescribed in a dosage of 100 μg once. The introduction is carried out in both nostrils, in the mornings. In accordance with the condition, the dosage of the medicine can be reduced by half. Often a relatively short period of time is required to achieve control of allergy symptoms. Dosage per day should not exceed 400 mcg (four injections per each nostril).

When appointing the drug to patients in old age, the application schedule and dosage adjustment is not required.

Patients from four to twelve years are usually prescribed 50 μg once. Spraying is carried out into each nostril.

The maximum therapeutic effectiveness is observed after three to four days from the start of therapy.

Immediately before injection, it is recommended to slightly shake the bottle, placing a thumb under the bottom, and the index and middle - on both sides of the tip. When using the medication for the first time or applying it after a long break, you need to make sure that the nebulizer is in good repair. By directing the tip to the side (from itself), make a few taps before the appearance of an aerosol cloud.

Before the introduction of the preparation "Fliksonase" the instruction recommends slightly blowing your nose. Inserting the tip of the vial into one nostril, the second one should be closed. Holding the bottle upright, the head should be tilted slightly forward. Breathing air with your nose, you should do one push on the spray gun. Breathe out with your mouth. To spray the drug into another nostril, the actions are repeated.

After using the medicine, the tip should be damped with a clean cloth, cover with a cap.

The drug "Fliksonase" during pregnancy and during lactation is contraindicated. Do not prescribe the drug to children under four years of age, with hypersensitivity.

When using medicament, there may be irritation of the nasopharynx, unpleasant odor and taste.
