Yangantau is a mountain, ascending to which, according to old-timers, one can feel the burning of the earth underfoot. 300 years ago the name of the point sounded like Karakosh-Tau, or Mount Berkutov. Now the name of this place is synonymous with the word "burning".

The legend of the mountain Yangantau says that the shepherd who spent the night here found remarkable healing properties. He settled down for the night, climbed under the root of the old tree. Suddenly, steam rose from the ground. So even in the cold season it was quite warm here.

Theories of origin
