The Dulles plan is falsification or a terrible reality?

Dulles' plan for the collapse of the USSR is one of the most popular plots in the political circles of today's Russian reality. It is regularly mentioned on television, in domestic disputes, often becomes one of the themes of the course of history in modern schools. The Dulles plan has long been claiming to be the answer to the first ever Russian question: "Who is to blame?"

The essence of the idea

The Dulles plan is seen by its supporters as a strategy carefully designed at the beginning of the Cold War by the US intelligence services, designed to undermine the moral foundations of Soviet society, and then to put the Soviet people on their knees with its negative population growth, high crime rate, drug addiction, low educational level and so on. . And to achieve these trends - the disintegration of Soviet society - the CIA was assembled by imposing low values through mass culture: brutal films, pornography, the cult of drugs, violence, low-quality music, cheap life priorities and landmarks. It is easy to see that such a Dulles plan to destroy Russia is completely correlated with the domestic reality of the last two decades. And that's why it's even easier to believe in him, clutching his head from the suddenly revealed truth. However, this is a falsification. Very popular, accumulated a certain visibility of the evidence base, and yet falsification.

In fact, there was never a report in 1945 by the director of the CIA to the American congress, to which the mystifiers refer. For the first time this text was published already in independent Russia in 1993 in Russian in the publication "Soviet Russia". Very soon, the "document," blaming all the blame for the popular corruption on foreign ill-wishers, was picked up by other publications, politicians and public figures of national-patriotic views. Among them, for example, Vladimir Zhirinovsky and Mikhail Zadornov. At the same time, this entire plot has a number of inconsistencies. First of all, the very fact of the report of the Director of the CIA in 1945 does not make sense already because the CIA was established only two years later. Moreover, Allen Dulles became its head only in 1953. The US policy to preserve the secrecy of documentation has a limit of 50 years, therefore all documents of the 1940s have already been declassified. As the reader guessed, there is no such plan there. In addition, the rate in these years in a possible hypothetical confrontation was made more likely to nuclear weapons, which in 1945 was already available in the States, but was not in the USSR. Of course, all this does not yet look like a convincing revelation. The real falsity of the text was revealed when it was discovered that it was taken almost entirely and verbatim from the artistic novel The Eternal Call of the Soviet writer Anatoly Ivanov, an exciting but completely fictional one. Giving the right context and giving this passage The shade, which today stirs the minds of our compatriots.

Acts, although it does not exist

People love beautiful conspiracy theories (which is no doubt also the Dulles plan) - alien plates hidden by the government, incredible technologies of medieval Slavs, Egyptians, Indians. Plots can be found for every taste. At the same time, the real scientific approach is distinguished by criticality, healthy skepticism and repeated rechecking of the proposed ideas and facts. Like many such alternative theories, the Dulles plan is crumbling like a house of cards, it is only necessary to dig deeper, listen to critics, and not just to the dear heart of the hoaxers, folding the material without a clear methodological justification, and to try to find real historical sources. At the same time, the fact that such a seriously developed concept never existed in the CIA's plans (as far as can be judged from accessible and real sources) does not abolish many pitiable tendencies in our country. Moreover, this, perhaps, even aggravates them. After all, the blame for the moral disintegration of Russians lies not on any special services, but rather on domestic politicians, oligarchs and the people themselves who admit it.
