The insidious mushroom swine is edible: to collect or not?

Where do pigs grow?

The mushrooms under consideration grow in families. The period of their fruiting lasts from June to October. They are found in coniferous, deciduous, mixed and other forests. Wet and shady places are for them the most favorable environment. Pigs can be found near aspen, oak, birch, shrubs, on the roots and trunks of uprooted trees, in the area of old ant nests.

Mushroom swine - edible food or not?

This type of forest gifts is still very common among mushroom pickers. But, unfortunately, scientists attributed it to the category of poisonous products. The same decision was made by the Ministry of Health.

Previously, people believed that the mushroom pig is an edible food, absolutely harmless. However, the researchers found that in addition to those poisons that are destroyed under the influence of high temperature (hemoglutin and hemolysin), there is muscarin, which does not dissolve in water. The pigs accumulate radioactive isotopes of copper and cesium. With regular use, these toxic substances accumulate in the blood and cause the formation of antibodies that destroy the red erythrocytes. Subsequently, they disintegrate, and there is a process of hemolysis (loss of hemoglobin). This leads to a sudden appearance of anemia, jaundice, liver disease, kidney problems or abdominal pain. The most terrible thing is that the initial signs of an illness are absent, but everything is too late. Therefore, if you hear from anyone that the mushroom swine is edible food, you know: this is a mistaken opinion! It is a time bomb, and therefore refers to poisonous fungi.

In modern medicine, specialists have developed a technique by which from thick swines extract atromententine (a substance with antibiotic properties), which is used to make anti-inflammatory drugs.

Today, many people still believe that mushrooms are swine - edible. They think they can neutralize all toxins by digesting and soaking the product, not even suspecting that they are risking their health. To avoid unpleasant consequences, it is better to exclude this fungus from your diet, or use it extremely rarely.
