The coat of arms of the Trans-Baikal Territory and other characteristics of the territory

To date, there are more than 90 subjects in the Russian Federation. One of the administrative regions is the Trans-Baikal Territory.

State symbols of the province

Each administrative territory, according to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, must have its own graphic symbols: flag and coat of arms, anthem. The absence of these inalienable symbols may raise the question of the feasibility of the existence of a territorial unit.

The coat of arms of the Trans-Baikal Territory is one of the heraldic symbols of the region. Approved at a meeting of the regional legislative assembly on March 1, 2009 (the anniversary of the establishment of the administrative unit). The flag of the Trans-Baikal Territory is legally approved by the law of February 17, 2009.

What does the emblem look like?

Let's try to draw the coat of arms of the Trans-Baikal Territory. We take a cloth from a fabric or a paper in the size 8: 9. For convenience, a rectangle with sides of 80 and 90 centimeters is suitable. The base color of the canvas should be yellow. Such a background symbolizes gold, that is, wealth. The coat of arms of the Trans-Baikal Territory was copied in many respects from the coat of arms of the Chita region, so the central element was the flying eagle. This bird has been considered the main symbol of the Siberian lands since ancient times. In the mythology and folk traditions of the northern Russian lands, the eagle was considered a symbol of courage. With the power of this bird, they compared the strength of the spirit of the pioneers who mastered these lands in the distant past when the level of development of technology was primitive.

In the eagle's claws, you must draw a bow and arrow. The fact is that this region is now on the border of Russia with Mongolia. The coat of arms of the Trans-Baikal Region reflects the historical development of the region. Since ancient times, the raids of the Mongol-Tatars have brought a lot of trouble to the Russian lands, so people had to stand up for the protection of their territories. Ancient people used a bow and an arrow as a weapon.

Flag of the Transbaikalian Territory

Now we will draw the flag of the territory. We take cloth from cloth or paper. It is necessary to adhere to a proportion of 2: 3. For example, you can take a canvas with sides 20 and 30 centimeters. Also, you will need paint for work. To paint the flag of the Trans-Baikal Territory, we will use colors of yellow, green and red colors. Such coloring was chosen by the deputy corps of the region for the flag not by accident, because each color has its own symbolic meaning. For example, red symbolizes the earth. In the bowels of the edge is a lot of minerals. The yellow color is the steppe, and the green is the taiga.

Separation of colors on the flag should be forked. On the left, we draw a yellow color, we'll color it green, and the lower part will be red. We add that the color and size of the flag are approved by the law of 2009.

Zabaikalsky Krai: cities and towns

This region has 10 settlements. The largest of them on this territory is Chita. The official city status was received in 1687. The population to date is slightly more than 343,000 people. The second largest city of the region is Krasnokamensk. It was founded in 1967. As of January 1, 2016, it was home to 53,242 people. You can talk about the dynamic development of the settlement, because in the province there are cities much older by the date of foundation, but they live 5-6 thousand people (for example, Sretensk). 29050 people in early 2016 lived in the town of Borzya. From 10 to 17 thousand people living in the village - a typical picture for the region, called the Trans-Baikal Territory.

Cities with such a population:

  • Bals;
  • Mogocha;
  • Nerchinsk;
  • Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky;
  • Hilok;
  • Shilka.

The relative sparseness of the region indicates a relatively low level of industrial development and remoteness of the territory from the European part of Russia.

Rivers and lakes

Argun is the main river in Transbaikalia. It flows through Russia and China. The total length of the river is 1620 kilometers. The Shilka River (length 560 km) also flows in Transbaikalia. Onon flows into this river, which begins in Mongolia. The length of this waterway (total) is 1032 km (3/4 of them on the territory of Russia). The river Ingoda (length 708 km) flows exclusively through the territory of the region and is one of the important components of the Amur basin. The Khilok River flows not only in the Trans-Baikal Territory, but also in Buryatia. The length of this waterway is 840 kilometers.

There are also 3 lakes in the region: Kuando-Charskoe, Toreiskoye, and also Ivano-Arakhley.

Ethnic composition of the population

The bulk of the population of the region (almost 90%) are Russians. The second place is occupied by Buryats (6.8%). The third largest nation in Transbaikalia is the Ukrainians, which number is 0.6% of the population. Representatives of the Tatar, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Kyrgyz, Belarusian and Uzbek ethnic groups also live on this land.

We are seeing a picture of a multinational region, in which many nationalities peacefully coexist on a fairly small territory.

The Trans-Baikal Territory is a very beautiful and interesting region of the Russian Federation.
