Key points and prerequisites for the formation of the ancient Russian state

The transition from tribal relations to feudal relations ultimately led to the manifestation of the first signs of a developed society in the territory of modern Russia. The prerequisites for the formation of the Old Russian state are as follows:

- Strengthening the princely power at the expense of the growing strength of the squad.
- Unification of many large tribes under a single center.

Eastern Slavs and the formation of the ancient Russian state are connected by the union of tribes of glades, drevlyans and other related tribes under the rule of Kiev. In the west, Novgorod became the center. In the IX century, the first mention of the ancient Russian state appeared.

The tribes of the Drevlyans, Croats, Tivertians are referred to a group that is called Eastern Slavs. The formation of the ancient Russian state began precisely after the unification of a large number of tribes under the rule of the Kiev princes. Union of Krivich, Slovenes, Dulebov led to the formation of the Novgorod Principality. In 862, Rurik was invited to the principality, and from that moment the history of our country began to count.

There are several theories of the origin of the Slavic state. The first of these is Norman. She argues that the Russian tribes invited the rulers of the Norwegian prince Rurik. Archaeological excavations confirm the existence of Varangian traces in history. It was the Varangians who created the first prerequisites for the formation of the ancient Russian state. The most ardent supporters of the Norman theory are the German historians Bayer and Miller.

According to another, anti-Norman theory, the prerequisites for the formation of the ancient Russian state appeared with the coming to power not of the Varangian, but of the Prussian prince. According to her, Rurik was a native of the Slavic tribe. Mikhail Lomonosov was the first to deny the Norman origin of the state. In the XIX and XX centuries, this theory was supported by many historians.

Rurik actively engaged in the arrangement and strengthening of the external borders of the new state. Prince Oleg, who succeeded him, assembled Rus into a single whole, which resulted in the successful campaigns of his squad for Byzantium. Oleg very wisely ruled the country, calculating each step. During his reign, Rus already occupied a vast territory from Kiev to the Novgorod forests.

Oleg's nephew Igor - could not outshine the glory of his uncle. His desire to surpass his relative led to a crushing defeat of the Russian fleet near the Byzantine coast. The union concluded with the Pechenegs helped to press the Greeks again and force them to sign a peace treaty. Prince Igor was killed during an attempt to re-collect the tribute from the tribe of the Drevlyans. The mother of Svyatoslav's heir, Olga, changed her husband's post. She brutally avenged the murderers of her husband, betraying the capital of the Derevlyans, the Iskorosten fire. The Princess greatly improved the system of collecting tribute, the first to adopt Christianity. The son of Olga (Prince Svyatoslav) subordinated the tribe of Vyatichi, he defeated the Volga Bulgars, as well as the North Caucasian tribes. At this time even the strongest states of the world sought friendship with Russia.

The prerequisites for the formation of the ancient Russian state appeared due to improved farming and hunting in the northern regions. This led to the strengthening of the power of the princes and the establishment of intertribal ties. Thus, the scattered ancient Slavic tribes united in a state that in time became a superpower, the opinion of which is listened to throughout the world.
