The best kefir for complementary feeding of the baby

Kefir is very popular with our population. It is tasty and useful. Choosing the best yogurt, you provide your body with useful substances necessary for digestion.

The name of kefir came from the word "kef", which in translation from the Caucasian means "health". But not only the Highlanders had long been convinced of its usefulness. On their own experience, any person can say which kefir is better: the one that improves the work of the stomach and intestines, excites appetite, helps the development of useful microflora.

But, despite the whole benefit of this drink, the baby should not be given it too soon and in large quantities. Everything has its time. Before you start luring the baby with dairy products, decide - which kefir is better, how to store it properly, how to prepare kefir by yourself.

In yoghurts and yogurt for adults there are always dyes, starch, preservatives. Children should not be fed such dairy products. They will cause allergies. But even proven, the best kefir must be carefully checked before buying. There should not be any additives, the shelf life should be minimal, and the fat content should not exceed 3.2 percent. Feed your child only with that kefir that corresponds to his age.

As is known, yogurt is a low-alcohol beverage. And let the alcohol content in it is negligible, it is believed that kefir for babies can be a particular danger. In America, Western Europe because of this, switched from kefir to completely non-alcoholic yogurt. If you still decided to regale the baby with a domestic sour-milk product, choose the best kefir, and only children's.

Many mothers do not know when it is already possible to give the baby kefir. If the baby is on artificial feeding, then from seven months you can feed it with kefir. If a child has rickets or anemia, then also from 6-7 months it is recommended to introduce kefir. Babies who are breastfed should not give it better than 8 months. Even the best yogurt is unadapted meal, in it the protein and mineral composition does not correspond to the needs of the baby on breastfeeding. Therefore, we introduce kefir only after we introduce vegetable and fruit purees, porridges into the diet.

In kefir contains a lot of casein, which is difficult to break down the intestines of the baby and therefore can cause allergies. Also, kefir salts and organic acids irritate the digestion and kidneys of the baby.

The kid by and large does not care how useful this or that product. He is guided only by his own taste and curiosity. A child simply can refuse to eat kefir if he does not like it. Therefore, you can improve the taste of yogurt already familiar to the child banana or apples. Sugar is not worth using!

A large baby can be given a kefir product immediately, and it's better to start a thin baby with cottage cheese.

Pediatricians disagree about when to start lure with kefir. The popular doctor E. Komarovsky recommends doing this from 6 months, and WHO says that not earlier than a year. Therefore, most tend to average arithmetic age - 8 months. By this time, the kid has already tried porridge, vegetables, fruits, meat, cottage cheese, yolk and his digestive system is ready for kefir.
