The action of "phenazepam" on the human body

"Phenazepam" - the first tranquilizer in the USSR, created by a group of scientists in the early seventies of the last century. First, the drug was mainly used by military doctors, then its use became popular in the treatment of depression, insomnia and other neurological problems. The action of "Phenazepam" is an anticonvulsant, soothing and hypnotic effect. The drug is often very addictive and in many countries is recognized as a drug.

General information

"Phenazepam" is a potent tranquilizer. It has a highly active effect on the nervous system. It is recommended for admission as directed and under medical supervision, as unpredictable reactions to "Phenazepam" may occur. What action the drug will have in case of uncontrolled use is not known.

In the case of long-term use (more than two months), tablets can cause a strong dependence, which will lead to aggravation of problems. Abuse threatens the development of severe depressions and even the desire to commit suicide.

The time of action of "Phenazepam" is several hours. After ingestion, the drug is easily absorbed, the maximum concentration of the active substance in the blood is observed for 1-2 hours. The half-life is six to eighteen hours, depending on the dosage.

Effect of the drug

The drug is characterized by actions of a different nature. The anxiolytic effect is expressed in the form of a reduction in emotional tension, withdrawal of feelings of fear, anxiety, anxiety and panic. It is determined by the effect of the medicine on the central nervous system.

Sedation is manifested by a decrease in neurotic symptoms, due to the effects on the brain stem and thalamus nucleus. In this case, the patients are gradually relaxing, withdrawal of aggressiveness, irritability, nervousness.

Anticonvulsant action is due to increased nervous inhibition. In this case, the impulses that caused such manifestations are suppressed.

Sleeping effect is associated with the inhibition of brain cells, which reduces the effect of stimuli, which affect the mechanism of falling asleep (emotional, motor provocateurs). As a result, the duration and regularity of sleep is regulated.

Indications

The action of "Phenazepam" is depressing in the nervous system, so the need to take the drug should be determined only by a doctor. As a rule, the medicine is prescribed in the following cases:

The action on the child's organism can be overwhelming and depressing, as a result of which newborns appear weak (with poor breathing, appetite, sedentary), often with congenital pathologies of the nervous system. Especially dangerous is the use of the drug in the first trimester of pregnancy.

Overdose

In case of abuse of the drug, the action of "Fenazepam" may represent extremely unpleasant consequences, leading to disruption of the body. Overdose has a negative effect on the nervous system, in the following states:

  • Oppression of consciousness;
  • Confusion of movements;
  • Slurred speech;
  • Excessive drowsiness;
  • Decreased reflexes;
  • coma.

Excess tranquilizer often leads to a violation of the heart and respiratory system, provoking a decrease in pressure, shortness of breath, causing tachycardia or bradycardia. Possible problems with digestion:

Features

The action of tablets ("Phenazepam") is especially noticeable when the patient has not previously used psychoactive drugs. In such cases, the dose of the drug should be minimal, since "beginners" are particularly susceptible to tablets.

With prolonged use of the drug in large doses, a strong dependence may develop, so it is not recommended to prescribe a course for more than 2 weeks (in rare cases, a month). A sharp cessation of consumption of tablets sometimes provokes a withdrawal reaction that manifests itself in the form of depression, insomnia, aggressiveness or excessive sweating.

It is forbidden to drink any alcohol-containing drinks, using "Fenazepam". The effect on the body when interacting with hypnotics or narcotics is intensified in the manifestation of central nervous system depression. This combination guarantees a state of extreme inadequacy and can last several days.

"Phenazepam" affects the reaction rate, so during the treatment it is not recommended to drive vehicles, operate machinery and engage in any other activity requiring increased concentration.
