Among antimicrobial agents for systemic use, doctors often choose the drug "Cefazolin" when prescribing medicines. The composition of this drug includes sodium cefazolin, a semisynthetic cephalosporin antibiotic of the first generation. These include infectious pathologies in the respiratory tract (pneumonia, bronchitis), in soft tissues and skin, the genitourinary system (urethritis, cystitis, prostatitis, pyelonephritis), bile ducts, bones and joints. Cefazolin (injections) instruction is recommended for endocarditis, for prophylaxis during surgical interventions (hysterectomy, open heart surgery, joints, bones, cholecystectomy and others).

Introduction is carried out by jet or drip intravenously or intramuscularly.

Application for infections provoked by gram-positive microbes, adults are prescribed 0.5 or 1 g per day 3-4 times. In moderate states of cefazolin (injections), the instruction can be administered twice a day. On average, the amount of the drug is 1-4 g, the maximum dosage is 6 g per day.

In the prevention of postoperative complications, purulent-septic including medication administered intravenously or intramuscularly for half an hour before the operation. In patients with impaired renal function, nephropotoxicity may occur.
