Mamin-Sibiryak wrote about him, on his shores the famous films "Ugryum-river" and "Demidovs" were filmed. Now around it are several tourist bases, providing everyone who wants to rest for every taste. Here you can spend the whole vacation or just a weekend, celebrate an anniversary or organize a wedding banquet, enjoy fishing or just relax in nature, enjoying the fantastic views of the surrounding landscapes.

Where is

On the slope of the Ural Mountains framed by evergreen spruce trees and white-birch birches splashes the famous beauty of the Sverdlovsk region - Lake Tavatui. From Yekaterinburg this is in the north-west side, the kilometrage is about 40-50 km (depending on which point to count). From Chelyabinsk to the lake about 250 km, from Nizhny Tagil - 100, from Perm - 400, from Tyumen - 370, from Ufa - 550 km. On the shores of Tavatui there are absolutely wild places where the human foot rarely walks. But most of the territory is habitable and ennobled. In addition to tourist bases and health resorts, there are three settlements - the same name with Lake Tavatui, modern Kalinovo and a very tiny Priozerny, as well as an orphanage and a fish farm. Within three to five kilometers from the lake there is a railway branch connecting Yekaterinburg with Nizhny Tagil. There are two convenient stations for those who wish to come here - Tavatui and Kalinovo.

Lake Tavatui: how to get there by car

By car to the lake, you need to go along the road P352 (Serovskiy trakt), starting from Ekaterinburg. On the way not far from the road there are two other lakes: Baltym near the village of Sanatorium and Isetskoe, on the bank of which grew the city of Sredneuralsk. These settlements are bypassed, and, without reaching the sign "Tavatui", turn left. Approximately in 300-400 meters there will be a forest road which in 3-4 km will lead to settlement Tavatui. From Nizhny Tagil, you can get to the lake through Verkh-Neuvinsky and Murzinka to Kalinovo, or along the P-352 road to the right turn to Tavatui.

By bus and train

It is very easy to get to Lake Tavatui and by public transport.

The first way is to follow the train to Tavatui station by train. From there to the lake about 5 km. The asphalt road leads to the village of Priozerny, and the forest trail, to which it is necessary to turn near the power line, will lead to the Sukharnoy Cape. Here you can pit a tent and relax with a savage. If you get off the train at Kalinovo station, there will be only 3 km to the lake, which can be traversed on foot or by bus. Electric trains from Yekaterinburg to Nizhny Tagil depart daily (10 flights). On the way, the time is just over an hour, and from Nizhny Tagil it's about 2 hours.

The second way is to go from Ekaterinburg by bus number 147. You can sit on it at the railway station. The journey takes about an hour and a half. Departure time is at 07-15 in the morning and at 16-00. To get on this bus it is possible and at other stops in the city, for example, on the UZTM square, but the time of departure there is not fixed.

Geographical description

Tavatui is a relatively young lake. It was formed only 10-15 millennia ago due to tectonic movements of the earth's crust. By size, the reservoir is considered to be one of the largest in the region. The area of the mirror of its waters is 21.2 square meters. Km, the maximum depth is 9 meters, from north to south the length is 10 km, and almost 3.5 km from west to east.

The water in the lake is cool, crystal clear, almost everywhere (except for the deepest places), the bottom is perfectly visible. Unusually, we can say, fabulously picturesque Lake Tavatui. Photos show its banks, framed by spruce-birch forest. On many sites they are decorated with stone blocks of the most bizarre shape. There are three dozen streams and rivers in Tavatui, many of which are known only by locals. The most full and widely known are the Great Shamanikha (not to be confused with the Yakut Shamanikha), Kazachiha, Kamennaya, Kalinovka and Bolshaya Vitilka.

The geographical location of Lake Tavatui is such that in summer it is about 1-2 degrees cooler than in the vicinity, and in winter it is the same warmer. Since the end of June, the water near the coast has warmed to 23-24 degrees. From late October to May the lake is covered with ice.

Settlements

About 200-300 years ago only wolves and bears wandered near Lake Tavatui. At the end of the 17th century, the Old Believers fled here to escape the repression of Peter the Great. They founded the village of Tavatui. Since then, the lake has become quietly ennobled. Now in the village of Tavatui there are shops, the Christina Hotel, a cafe and a free beach. It practically does not differ from paid ones located on recreation bases. There is a cafe (open on weekends and holidays), toilets (paid), pavilions and barbecue grills (free of charge), the ball net is stretched, the rental of boats is working. The beach is clean sand, behind it - a carpet of green grass.

The most modern and largest (about 2500 local residents) is the village of Kalinovo. To the railway of the same name. Station from it is 3 km, and to Murzinka - 8.5. Geographically, it is located on the opposite bank of the village of Tavatui. There are two places of interest - a monument to the liberators of World War II with shells filled with earth from each hero city, and a unique monument of nature in the form of a phantasmagoric heap of stones.

In eight kilometers from the railway station Tavatui is a tiny (13 inhabitants) village Priozerny.

Islands and mountains

Tavatui is a lake that boasts islands. Of course, their size is small, but for birds, swimmers and lovers of the beauty of nature, they are extremely valuable. One of the largest is called Makarenok. It is located far, in a kilometer from the coastline, and is interesting by unusual boulders, like tents. They stretch for 100 meters and rise eastward up to 6 meters in height.

Other rocky islands are the Safonovs, Golubev, Podosinovs. Black Island is interesting, located just 25 meters from the shore. It looks like a sheer black rock, up to 70 meters long.

Has its own phenomena Tavatui. The lake without particularly strong underwater currents and winds, but one day it is not known how a huge piece came off from the quicksand, swam across the reservoir from north to south-west and took root near Priozerny. Now it is the island of Olkhov Kust, or Slapven. It is quite large in area, but heavily waterlogged.

Lake Tavatui is also adorned with mountains. The most interesting are High on the southeast edge of the lake, Stozhok and Bolshoy Kamen. Tourists like to arrange a photo session here.

Campings

Rest on Lake Tavatui (Sverdlovsk Region) is organized taking into account the needs of all categories of citizens. For lovers of freedom in everything and maximum unification with nature there are tent camping. "Lagoon" - located near the village of Tavatui, and "Green Cape" - a camping site with a huge territory, where hardly one group of tourists will interfere with the other. For the entrance to the car, a fee of 300 rubles is charged. If you do not leave the campsite (do not cross the line of entry), for this amount you can live for at least a month. To leave the campsite and return for free only the first day.

In addition, you can relax on the well-equipped paid beach "Stozhok". There are equipped gazebos, wakeboards, water skis and other water sports equipment are issued for use.

The base of railwaymen "Tavatui" is located 1.5 km from the settlement of the same name and is open all year round. Advantages of this base are low population and ideal purity. Here you can rent a comfortable house and / or a gazebo and a place for rest, where there is a patch for a fire, tables and benches. Firewood is bought and cost from 200 rubles per set. In "Bear Stone" there is a rental of sports equipment, boats, quads, skis, snowboards, a children's playground, a beach. In winter the base does not work.

All year round the guests are pleased with the small but beautiful and cozy base "Sunny Beach". Here vacationers are offered comfortable buildings of "standard", "luxury" and "luxury PC" categories. On the basis of mass entertainment - billiards, swimming pool, sauna, gym, quads, a wonderful beach, delicious and abundant food.

Recently a club of a closed type appeared on Lake Tavatui. It is placed in floating tents directly on the water surface.

Fishing

Not only lovers of beauty are attracted by Lake Tavatui. Fishing here is one of the most fascinating activities. Previously, the fish in the lake was visibly invisible. Now, of course, is no longer the case, but the fishermen complain of sin. From the boat and from the shore catch crucian, ide, ruff, perch, pike, Chebak, burbot, whitefish, ripus. Perch bites on the entire water area of the reservoir, but connoisseurs go to Kalinovo for him. There it is caught more smoothly. Pike a lot in the southern part of Tavatui and the river Bolshaya Shamanikha. On the north shore, the pike, and the prawnfish, and the perch also perfectly peck. In winter, seasoned fishermen prefer the Vitimka estuary area, where ruffs and perches are perfectly caught from the ice.
