Tactical knife - steel claw of special forces

In a more narrowly specialized interpretation, the concept of "tactical knife" implies a special kind of cold steel, intended solely for the physical elimination of the enemy in the course of hand-to-hand combat. While other types of army knives are more correct to be called special. These include, in particular, cold steel, which is part of the equipment of a paratrooper, a combat swimmer, a sapper and representatives of many other military specialties.

But tactical knives have only one deadly purpose. And they are armed, as a rule, fighters of special forces and subversive groups. But the specifics of modern combat, which often occurs in urban areas characterized by high density, both their own and their enemies, is such that the use of firearms is not always advisable. This, let alone a variety of special operations, where to find oneself - means putting the whole group in a very difficult situation. Then the faithful companion of the saboteur, a tactical knife, comes to the rescue.

A vivid example of the significance of this instrument of liquidation in combat conditions can serve as an episode that happened during the Great Patriotic War during the heroic battle for Stalingrad. Then one of our divisions was stormed by a tractor factory already occupied by the Nazis. Due to the large number of metal structures, in particular heavy equipment, it was simply impossible to use firearms. Ricochets! Naturally, the heavy and inconvenient sapper blades and bayonet knives were not used for this work. And, of course, the losses among our fighters were very great. If they were armed with high-tech modern tactical knives, everything could be different ...

Often on the way of special forces there are obstacles that were not detected during preliminary reconnaissance. In this situation, the tactical knife can be used as scrap or wire cutter. Of course, it is not intended for such rough work, but if necessary, it will easily endure this test.

In addition, often in the performance of various tactical operations, freelance situations arise when one of the soldiers has inadvertently become entangled, for example, in ropes, performing descent along the wall of the building, the support of a bridge or other object. In some cases, a tactical knife is needed when performing any combat airborne operation. For example, to cut belts of discarded containers or parachute slings.

Since the employees of special forces almost never use small sapper blades, the only and irreplaceable multipurpose tool is precisely a tactical knife. With its help, it is easy to cut off branches, remove canopies, curtains or other objects that interfere with the survey and block the sector of shelling.

A modern tactical knife must meet certain requirements to be a real combat weapon, not an ornamental toy. The metal top of the handle has a flat shape. Weight in the collection does not exceed 350 grams. The standard length of the blade is 18 cm. The steel from which such a weapon is made has an increased corrosion resistance, its brand must withstand impact (dynamic) and lateral loads (for breakage and rotation). Strength not less than 58 HRC. The blade is covered with a protective compound that provides resistance to oxidation.

Although psychologists also argue that a brilliant blade has the ability to have a demoralizing effect on the opponent, it is desirable, after all, to make it dull. Since in a real combat clash it is necessary to have a deal with sufficiently prepared opponents. In such a situation, a brilliant blade will produce a unmasking effect.
