Table lamp on the clamp: the rules of choice. What should be a table lamp for a schoolboy?

When working at a desk, good lighting is a must. A table lamp for a schoolboy is just as necessary a subject as for an enterprise director. The choice of them in our days is huge. Let's take a closer look at this useful accessory: how it happens and what to look for when choosing.

Lamp construction

Table lamps in the classical version consist of three parts. This is the base, the column and the so-called light diffuser. The latter can be made in the form of a plafond of glass or a textile lampshade, sometimes it is a bell of an opaque material. The source of light can serve as a normal incandescent bulb, and a fluorescent or LED lamp.

Today, energy-saving light bulbs are firmly in fashion . At a relatively high price (compared to conventional), they have a much longer life, low power consumption, modern design. And in the end they pay off their value.

Almost always the design of the desk lamp provides a switch located on the base or the power cord (less often on the base).

Sometimes the system design provides for a dimmer, which allows you to adjust the brightness of the lighting.

Table lamps, the photos of which you see, are a perfect example of a modern compact and ergonomic lamp.

What are they like?

The appearance of the elements of the structure can vary greatly, depending on the purpose of the fixture. A classic cabinet lamp is used to illuminate the desk. It is not attached to anything, it just stands on a flat surface. The diffuser in it is usually a plafond of glass or a lampshade made of textiles.

The design of the cabinet lamp can be made in classical or retro style - with a massive shade made of expensive fabric, decorated with brushes, with a shaped stand, usually quite massive. And maybe it's super-modern or even futuristic - there's no limit to the imagination of designers. Most often, these lamps have one light source, less often two or three.

A similar design has bedside lamps and nightlights. They are usually smaller than table lamps for a table, but outwardly and on materials almost do not differ from them.

Lamp on the clamp

Lamp on the clamp is a lamp with fastening to the table. It has a clamp, which is rigidly fixed on the table top or any other surface. The column of such a luminaire is made in the form of a flexible design, which allows to adjust the light source in any desired direction. As a rule, it has an opaque bell that sends light through a deliberate flow.

Such lamps usually have key switches and are sold complete with light bulbs of the appropriate type and power. They have a light weight (up to one kilogram) and a convenient enough cord length from one to two meters.

The category "table lamp on the clamp" refers to the lamps on the clothespin. This, as a rule, miniature luminaires without a multistage knee, consisting of a compact diffuser and a clothespin-holder. For fastening on the table top, they are low, but are great for creating an upper stream of light. To do this, they are fixed on the shelves of shelves, protruding pieces of furniture. Such a light and compact luminaire can be attached even to the carpet hanging on the wall. Having successfully located several identical small lamps on the clothespin in different corners, you can achieve an original and very cozy light solution.

Table lamps, photos of which in front of you, with its bright design and variety of colors will please the schoolboy or student.

The device of a lamp on a clamp

The table lamp on the clamp with the fastening to the table, as a rule, is powered by an adapter type, is available with a diffuser of black or white color, although, of course, different color variants are possible. The lamp body is made of metal and plastic. At the bottom of the column there is a grip for installation and secure fixation on the table surface.

To redistribute the light flux in any desired direction, a mechanism is provided that connects the links of the holder-column and creates the optimal lighting conditions for any point on the working surface of the table. The column, consisting of several parts, has hinges that can provide a turn in any direction. At the bottom of the column there is a clamp with a clamping screw, with which you can easily fix the lamp on the surface of the countertop.

What is a clamp?

What is a clamp? Outwardly the mechanism of this type is similar to a clothespin, with which it is attached to any surface. The luminaire with such a clamp can be installed almost anywhere and to ensure an even distribution of the light stream throughout the working area. This possibility is extremely important for those who spend a lot of time at the desk.

The thickness of the surface to which the table lamp is mounted on a clamp can reach 5-6 centimeters. This allows you to fix it not only on a standard desk (the thickness of the countertop is usually about 3 centimeters), but also on the windowsill or bench in the garage.

The advantages of such lamps

The main advantage of this design is the ability to adjust the angle of incidence of the light beam in any direction, which is almost unattainable for ordinary table lamps.

Another important advantage is saving space on the desk, which, as a rule, is always lacking. And also safety - thanks to the reliable fastening of the lamp, even the slightest possibility of its slipping off the table is practically excluded.

Such luminaires can usually be easily raised, for example, above the head or the level of the monitor. The power of the used bulbs is selected in the optimal way for each particular model. After all, a table lamp for a schoolboy should, among other things, protect his child's vision.

Another advantage of such devices is modern design and the ability to place them in the interior of any style - both at home and in the office. Lamps of the latest generation - with fluorescent or LED lamps - look great in a working room or a high-tech living room.

About shortcomings

The disadvantages of them include the gradual weakening of the rigidity of the structure, the screws of which are eventually unwound. Because of this, the lamp can gradually begin to sag, deviating from the intended position.

But such a problem is inherent in the old models. Modern lamps are equipped with steel springs, rigidly fixing the structure.

Another disadvantage is sometimes called cumbersome design. The lap of the lamp sometimes does not fit in a tight space, especially if the workplace is equipped in a niche or bounded above by hinged shelves.

Customer Reviews

As soon as it appeared on sale, the desktop lamp on the clamp quickly conquered the market. Consumers appreciated its versatility, practicality, unprecedented convenience and functionality. According to customers' feedback, it is the wide possibilities of adjusting the position of the light source that were the decisive factor when buying such lamps. Another no less valuable quality of consumers consider stylish design and the ability to fit a lamp on the clamp in almost any interior.
