Sweet peppers Gogoshara: what is it?

The name of a whole group of sweet peppers of tomato-like varieties of medium ripening period sounds unforgettable - gogoshary. What is this, what features are interesting for this representative of Solanaceae and how it differs from its fellow humans, we learn from this article.

Description of the species

The spherical thick-walled peppers of Gogoshara have long been hatched and successfully cultivated. What is it, probably, knows every Russian gardener. This group of varieties of vegetable pepper has been successfully cultivated and appreciated for a very long time. Each sort of pepper gogoshara forms a strong bush, reaching from 0.5 m to 1.0 m in height with a compact, dense, well-leafed crown.

The fruits are broad, round, strongly flattened, with a ribbed surface, reminiscent of small pumpkins, weighing up to 100-130 grams. Their color is traditional: in the period of technical maturity - green, and biological - burgundy-red or bright yellow. The wall of the fetus is 6-8 mm thick. The taste differs from other varieties of sweet pepper slightly bitterish tinge and can have a significant acuity, but not burning, but pleasantly-soft, accentuating the usual sweetness.

A feature of this vegetable is a light cross-pollination with a growing close to hot pepper. Its result is the tying and maturing of the fruits of intense-acute taste with the form of classical gogoshara. Therefore, it is better to grow it in the distance of sharp varieties, and to acquire the seed material it is worth to the reliable suppliers.

Spread

The high heat-loving nature of all varieties of this vegetable significantly limits the area of its growing and a full-bodied crop yields only in the middle and southern regions of Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, as they react sharply to the smallest temperature fluctuations. The most comfortable temperature for high-quality cultivation of the culture is considered to be 25-28 ° C and location in the open high ridges, where there is enough sun and fresh air to fill the fruit. However, experienced gardeners successfully grow gogoshares in greenhouses, where there is good ventilation, fresh air and sufficient lighting.

Peculiarities of growing

In the central part of Russia, peppers are grown by seedlings. Since the ripening time after pollination ranges from 95 to 105 days, seeds are sown before other varieties for 1-2 weeks, creating an optimal environment in the room: good lighting and an air temperature of 25-26 ° C. To heat pepper is demanding to capriciousness: cooling by only a few degrees leads to a significant lag in growth. Seedling containers after seeding are covered with glass or film. This will allow the seeds to germinate faster. The covering material is removed as soon as they are pierced.

Gogoschamps need a pick. And although the seedlings experience this procedure is difficult, but the result of a correct and accurate picking is the development of a powerful root system and active growth of the seedling. It is also not recommended to change the location of seedlings. Diving and subsequent transplantation to a permanent place is carried out very carefully, as the roots and stems of the seedlings are fragile and are restored for a long time.

Gogoshara does not like the sweet formation of the bush and the stepsons. Nevertheless, concerns about planting these varieties are common for growing sweet peppers.

Gogoshara: what is it and how to care for them

Peppers develop well in fertile soil, fertilized with high quality organic soil. But to feed plants with foliar spraying, experienced gardeners are not recommended, as pepper tolerates them painfully: tender young peppers can get burns even from solutions of very weak concentration. Unlike many Solanaceae, after planting this variety in the garden, it is not necessary to cut off the first fruits that have been formed - this significantly inhibits the development of the plant and the formation of the following peppers. The first fruits are usually removed from the bush in the stage of technical ripeness and sent to a warm place for ripening. It is believed that this stimulates a more active formation of ovaries and the maturation of subsequent fruits.

An obligatory condition is regular and timely watering, since the drying of the soil is also detrimental to the culture. Loosening for peppers is undesirable, since the peculiarity of the root system is its superficial location. It is better to cover the soil under bushes with humus or compost with a layer 10-12 cm thick.

Pinching the ovaries

With all the dislike of the culture for pasynkovaniyu, pinching ovaries, thickening the bush, it is necessary. This somewhat reduces the number of ripening fruits, but significantly increases their qualitative characteristics. In addition, the thickened bush can not give a full harvest.

To this group of vegetable peppers include various gogoshares: varieties Local, Ruby 2, Merishor, etc. All of them are equally heat-loving and grow in the open ground exceptionally in the southern regions.

We acquainted the reader with an interesting culture - peppers Gogoshara. What is it, is now clear and to beginning gardeners.
