State Moscow Law Academy

One of the most authoritative law schools in Russia in 2011 marked its eightieth anniversary. The Moscow Law Academy began its history in 1931 as the Central Correspondence Courses of Law. After considerable enlargements and several renaming, this educational institution turned into an authoritative university, which prepares highly qualified specialists, one might say, the legal elite of the country.

Alma mater

The Moscow Law Academy is a very difficult institution, it's one of those blessed places where students have their own high future. They receive here not only a fundamental theory and a voluminous practice, they are drunk in the academy with the real spirit of the profession. The Moscow Law Academy is able to educate students with true lawyers - with persistent moral qualities, purposeful, able to debate, with great love for people and, of course, their work.

The Law Academy continues a long tradition of education in the field of law and brings up real professionals. Of course, this is primarily due to her professors and faculty. Graduates of all the years remember their mentors with reverence: they were not only knowledge, it was a taste for the profession, a non-casual attitude to each student, the approach to students was almost individual, and professors - celestials, skilful lecturers, real masters. Over the course of its work, the Moscow State Law Academy has released more than 180 highly qualified lawyers into the world, and many still cooperate with the alma mater.

Structure

Now the academic process and research work in the academy are engaged in eleven institutes, five branches, thirty departments. More than twenty areas and scientific schools operate today within its walls. More than a thousand teachers work here, the team of which is decorated with a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, more than 190 doctors and 560 candidates of science, 33 honored lawyers of the Russian Federation, 16 honored scientists of Russia, more than 100 honorary workers of the Russian Federation.

Moscow State Law Academy simultaneously trains about 17 thousand students. More than 500 post-graduate students and applicants are being trained here. A lot of specialized institutions coexist in the structure of the academy. This is the international legal institute of the Moscow State Law Academy, and the Institute of Law, as well as the Institute of the Prosecutor's Office and the Institute of Forensic Science, the Legal Correspondence Institute and the Institute of Continuing Education, the Institute of Advocacy, the Institute of Banking and Finance Law, and the Energy Law Institute. And yet: the student of the Moscow State Aviation University is not necessarily Moscow. Branch of the Law Academy will issue the same diploma! A branch of the Academy four in different parts of our country.

Flagship

For eighty years the academy has gone a long way from small distance courses to the present moment, when it has become truly the flagship of the country's legal education, but it does not want, can not and will not stop there. Ahead - a lot of work, new achievements and accomplishments. And the address of the conquered peaks of jurisprudence is not only Moscow. The State Law Academy named after Kutafin has strong and many-sided connections with the whole world, allowing for further development.

It is here - the largest number of budget places, the widest choice on the profiles of preparation and in the magistracy, and bachelor's degree. The Academy has a fairly strong material and technical base, which allows you to train not only lawyers, but also highly qualified forensic experts.

To enter this university is very difficult. Despite the fact that about 450 budget places are allocated, the average passing grade is very, very high. On jurisprudence in 2015, he was 81.7 for the USE. In universities, where budgetary places are literally two dozen, the passing score is much lower.

Challenges for the future

In modern Russia is the process of building a civil society and a rule of law. The role of law under such conditions increases significantly, becoming one of the main social regulators. There are changes in the behavior of people, the legal principles are intensifying. The life of society and the state is changing. The growth of good social transformations and the level of legal culture in the country are closely interrelated. Therefore, the real professionals in the field of jurisprudence are so necessary for the country.

The professional consciousness of a lawyer forms, to the greatest extent, the highest legal education. Historically established schools store and develop classical traditions and prepare for many decades new personnel that are always in demand both in the scientific environment and labor markets. Such a historically established school is the Moscow Law Academy. Kutafina. Modern conditions put before an educational institution such task, as realization of fundamental formation of lawyers of innovative type.

Location

The Moscow State Law Academy O. E. Kutafina was located in a picturesque corner of Moscow, in one of its historical places. The village of Kudrino, where this institution is now located, has been mentioned in chronicles since 1412. At the moment it is Sadovaya-Kudrinskaya street, between the metro stations "Barrikadnaya" and "Mayakovskaya". The exact address of the university: Sadovaya-Kudrinskaya street, house 9. In the 15th century, there were possessions of cousin Dmitry Donskoy - Serpukhov prince Vladimir the Brave, and later on these lands there was a monastery that only in the 18th century came to desolation, and the land was given for building .

In 1901 the architect Nikiforov built a three-story house for the Moscow real school. This building is still intact, it now houses a training building. In 1987, O. E. Kutafin became the rector, and in the next year the academy (at that time - the institute) finally received a full-time faculty. In 2012, FGBOU VPO from the Academy was renamed into the University.

Student Brotherhood

The Moscow Law Academy named after Kutafin in 2014 became the winner in the competition of programs for the development of the student associations of HPE. The purpose of this event - the development of student self-government systems, as well as the increasing role of students in the modernization of HPE. Many universities that are under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation took part in the contest.

The commission, working at the competition, determined the participants after the appearance of the results and evaluation of the submitted programs. The winning universities received additional subsidies from the federal budget. The activity of student associations is realized through special development programs and is managed by a specially created body - the Coordination Council. In addition to the leaders of the ProBono (Center for Student Legal Aid), the Coordination Council includes heads of circles, student councils of all institutions and elective officials responsible for the activities provided for in the development program.
