In the current month in Moscow a complex of educational events is held under the unified name "It's not too late". The goal of the project is to improve the skills of social workers in the issues of the child's removal from the family and exchange of experience in the development of family forms of orphans. The program "It's not too late" is realized by the information analytical agency "Social Aspect" with the support of the Department of Family and Youth Policy of Moscow.

The number of orphans, as well as children left without parental care, has quadrupled in Russia in comparison with 1990. Often a child becomes a victim of so-called social orphanhood - when a child has to be taken away from disadvantaged parents.

In situations where the child is practically withdrawn from the family, specialists of social services who have appropriate practical and theoretical training can help.

The project "It's not too late" has set a goal to conduct a number of educational sessions to train specialists of social institutions in Moscow, representatives of government bodies and public organizations. In pursuance of this goal, criteria are developed that are
A sufficient basis for the removal of a child from the family, an information base is being formed on work in the field of family organization, the upbringing of orphans and children left without parental care, and consultations are being held for specialists in the social sphere.

The final event of the project "It's not too late" will be a "round table",
The time of which will be presented a methodical manual for the provision of
Assistance to a family that is on the verge of withdrawing a child from it. The main addressees of the publication are specialists in the social sphere working with the family, non-profit organizations and institutions that work with orphans, adoptive, substitute families.

The round table will be held in the main building of the Government of Moscow.

To participate in the project "It's not too late", experts in the field of
Family law, family pedagogy, social work, family policy,
Public figures actively involved in the problem of social orphanhood, teachers, psychologists and other professionals working with the family. So, the final event of the project - the "round table" - is planned to be visited, in particular, by the doctor
Sociological sciences Isabella Feodorovna Dementieva and candidate of psychological sciences Nadezhda Petrovna Ivanova.
