Settlement account of the bank and the organization. What is the difference?

The settlement account is the place of storage in a non-cash form of free cash in the ruble equivalent. It opens to a legal entity, in some cases an individual entrepreneur in a credit institution and is used for settlements with various counterparties. For transactions in foreign currency units, there are foreign currency accounts. And for individuals, the above type does not open. Instead, there are current or personal accounts for them.

In the accounting of the organization, each settlement account has a separate analytical reflection within account number 51 ("Settlement accounts"). Here, cash flow transactions are taken into account, for example, in settlements with personnel, taxes, suppliers, etc. (on a debit basis). On the loan, on the contrary, the arrival of ruble payments on various grounds (for the delivered products, etc.) is displayed.

The settlement account with the bank is opened with the use of a whole set of documents, among which for Russian organizations it is necessary to note:

- application;

- a copy of the document confirming the registration with the tax authorities;

- certificate of registration from the funds (extrabudgetary);

- a card with samples of signatures of those who can manage money resources on the account and the sample of the seal of the organization ;

- Copies of constituent documents, including the charter, constituent contract, certificate of registration, certified by a notary.

The credit organization considers the submitted documents and, in case they meet the requirements, draws up a contract for settlement and cash services, where the settlement account is indicated, which has in its composition (at the moment) twenty figures. The firm that opened it must inform the tax authorities within ten days. Information on closing the account is provided at the same time. In a number of banks, interest on the balance on the settlement account of the firm (quarterly, average monthly or non-reducible) can be accrued on the basis of a special agreement to the contract.

Accounts are opened for free, but in the future fees for conducting, for payments through the remote access system, for accepting / withdrawing cash, for issuing a checkbook, for certifying certain documents, etc. may be charged. Tariffs may vary not only in different banks, but Even in separate branches, if they are in different cities.

The bank's settlement account as an organization differs from the same account of the firm in the order of opening and coding: it starts at 303 or 301, but, like the payment requisites of the organization, contains 20 digits (in accordance with current legislation). If the first digit of the bank account is 301, then it is the so-called "correspondent" account of a particular credit institution in a higher-level financial institution - the Central Bank - and its structures in a particular city, region, district, etc.
