Self-education is the engine of progress and the main catalyst for the development of personality

The truism, which consists in the fact that a person learns from birth until his death, has long been known to everyone. But this process is not always arbitrary, depending on the individual's desire, conscious. Often, learning occurs either in the course of imitation, or as a result of the adaptation of the person to the circumstances and conditions of life. And then what is self-education? It is a process of purposeful, conscious acquisition of new knowledge, skills and abilities. It is based not only on a person's natural need for information, curiosity, but also on the application of volitional efforts.

It can be safely asserted that self-education is the engine of not only personal development. This is also a huge potential for progress. Let us remember who created science, who made the greatest discoveries and developed inventions? Not trained excellent students, not those who studied "from under the stick" or at the behest of parents. True scholars have almost always been self-taught in the best sense of the word. Because it was not their duty to move them, but the thirst for knowledge. Of course, many people have formal education at a certain level. Let us recall Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov. What people learn from already written books can be a starting point, a kind of foundation. To really develop and reach new heights gives the possibility of self-education only. This it urges the inquisitive mind, forces to search for answers to ambiguous questions. This it pushes to the discoveries. It does not allow us to dwell on what has already been understood and mastered.

Technologies of self-education in our time are available to any person. First of all, of course, it consists in reading. And, if earlier we used libraries, now the search for the necessary information has become extremely simple. In the network you can find books and articles in any language and on any topic. But one reading is sometimes not enough. Especially it concerns those spheres where other skills are needed, for example, designing, drawing. In them, too much can give self-education. This includes watching educational programs, mastering the material on CDs, doing exercises and listening to the radio. All can benefit, it is enough to learn how to use your time and abilities. For example, a person who wants to learn a foreign language independently can achieve a lot by self-education. Even venerable linguists are constantly practiced in passive possession: they watch films in the original, listen to audiobooks. And for beginners, special programs are created, which can be used everywhere, even in a car or for a walk.

Self-education in the Russian language is necessary not only for a professional journalist or teacher. Skill competently and Harmoniously express their thoughts will not hurt anyone. Take at least such seemingly far from linguistics specialties, as a software engineer or chemist-technologist. That people could use the invention or development, so that they became available to a wide range, competent instructions, set out in good Russian, are needed. And in legal practice, even a comma, placed in the wrong place, can be decisive for the interpretation of a law. What can be self-education in Russian? The so-called "innate literacy" comes in fact with the number of books read. Visual memory works , vocabulary is enriched. It is useful to look into the manuals and reference books. Moreover, doubts about the correctness of writing a particular word often arise even among the most literate people. And it is not necessary to perform boring school exercises. But to play in intellectual quizzes, to solve crossword puzzles or linguistic problems everyone can. Thinking and memory should work, only then the effect of self-education will be maximum.
