Self-assessment of the individual and its components

Self-esteem of a person consists in the ability to assess their own strengths and capabilities, to treat oneself critically. It is the basis of those tasks for which a person considers himself capable. Self-assessment is an integral part of managing behavioral responses. It affects our relations with the environment and people, the level of prosperity and satisfaction with life. Note that this concept is very important for understanding, because we often forget about it and let others characterize us, determine whether we are good or bad, good or bad, etc. As a rule, not absolutely positive personalities play on this, therefore they take advantage of the expressed benefit, but doubts and complexes develop in us.

But note that in everything is important objectivism. So, self-esteem of a person can be both adequate and inadequate. Depending on its nature, a person forms either a real or an incorrect attitude towards himself and his actions. Of course, the first kind of perception is characteristic of an adult, a person who has taken place. A child, developing, can not properly assess themselves, because his opinion is greatly influenced by society, trends, the desire to be like someone else and so on. He can not adequately determine what is good and what is bad, because his value system is blurred.

Self-esteem and the level of individual claims should strive for a positive mark, at least, so recommend psychologists. A person needs respect from others, as a result of which he begins to respect himself. Since we want to talk well about us, we are doing something for this, we are trying to become better. Of course, when a person from a teenager turns into a child, personal self-esteem comes to the fore, and not the opinion of the surrounding people. Personality, soberly assessing their capabilities, puts forward a number of requirements and seeks to implement them.

Note that the methodology of self-evaluation of personality depends on many factors, among which are:

1. Human status in society. An individual who is born in a royal family will have a higher self-esteem than a medical orderly who did not attend a medical school.

2. The element of suggestion. If a person is constantly told that he is a pig, he will inevitably grunt. This factor can not be underestimated.

3. Success in life and in a specific situation. Self-esteem of a person will go down if a person is accompanied by some failures.

4. Attitude towards oneself. If the subject himself is "at odds," he feels much better.

5. Belief in yourself and in your own success. When we believe that we can do a lot, we get a lot. This is the law.

    It should be noted that in the emerging personality, if the requirements to it do not coincide with those that it presents itself to, such interventions in the education from the outside end in failure. And the ability to act contrary to the opinions of others directly depends on the stability of the individual. If the self-evaluation of the person and the assessment of people around are divergent for a long period, an acute conflict often develops, which can lead to the development of a crisis situation.

    However, remember that you should develop positive self-esteem. Of course, no one talks about dropping an adequate perception of the situation and setting off on idle dreams. Once you have a negative thought about yourself, replace it with a positive one. Do not fight with the negative, just eliminate it. Looking in the mirror, notice only the good, not the bad in its appearance. Each person has a lot of both positive and negative characteristics. There is no ideal, so do not put a cross on yourself. The more you see in yourself the good, the more it will be in you.
