Script writer, playwright and prose writer Eduard Volodarsky: biography, creativity

Eduard Volodarsky is one of the most talented screenwriters of Russian film production. Stanislav Govorukhin, Alexei German and Nikita Mikhalkov, together with Volodarsky, presented the audience with more than one masterpiece.

The author's heritage

Volodarsky Edward, whose books will decorate any library, created more than 80 works, they became not only your favorite books, but also films and performances. Although not all Eduard Yakovlevich's films went out for hire, because in the Soviet Union it was difficult to perceive a "non-standard" movie. Many films have been gathering dust for a long time in the archives and came out only after "perestroika". It was then, when one of the films was banned for display, the writer began to cooperate with the directors of theaters.

As a playwright Volodarsky made his debut with the play "Our Debts". The first one was put by Oleg Efremov in 1973 in the Moscow Art Theater. Later, this work was able to assess the audience of more than 120 theaters of the country.

The first script, released on the screens of a full-length film, was the "White Blast". The next work, which Volodarsky Eduard Yakovlevich presented to the public, is "His own among strangers ...". After the release of the film, this film was watched by more than 23 million people.

People and roles

The work of Volodarsky is always a struggle. The struggle of man with himself, first of all. For the author it is important to reveal the character of the hero, his attitude to life, to his surroundings. There is no falseness and deceitfulness, while watching any film, it seems that you know a person a long time ago, you understand what he thinks and feels. Behind every role is fate. All his works Eduard Volodarsky endows with some kind of tragedy, in every story he makes us empathize with the heroes, we completely immerse ourselves in events and live them up to the end.

With the times

Film production of the 21st century also does not do without the participation of this screenwriter. Eduard Volodarsky took part in the filming of the films "Inhabited Island", "Passion for Chapa", "We are from the future" and many others, which were released not long ago, but immediately won the love of the viewers of the films. The most sensational, causing a lot of feedback (both positive and negative), was the series "Penalty." Released in 2011, he by popularity and the number of views has overtaken such masterpieces as "Brigade" and "Idiot", also shot according to the scenario of Volodarsky.

Movie about war

Edward Volodarsky "Penalty" based on historical sources, but, nevertheless, this series was seriously criticized by military experts. For an ordinary spectator who does not go into military subtleties, who does not attach importance to the historical authenticity of events, the film is really interesting. "Penalty" is, first of all, life from within, every hero, despite the fact that by definition should be a negative character, is interesting in its own way. Many already from the first minutes of the movie become loved. A great cast helps to watch the movie without stopping. The game is so professional that you start to live with these images.

The image of Father, magnificently embodied in life by Dmitry Nazarov, makes the plot even more dramatic. Although, for the truth, I must say that the film has a healthy share of humor. Jokes, funny situations, in which the heroes fall, do not let the viewer down and even more immersed in the atmosphere of the film.

The main characters, who at first glance should cause negative emotions, after all criminals, raise a wave of emotions, in the majority - positive. It is especially touching to observe the relations between the nurse Svetka and the young penalty soldier Saveliy. Looking at them, you understand how difficult it was to love at that time.

History is everywhere

The war and all that is associated with it is one of Eduard Yakovlevich's most favorite topics. In his works the viewer can see the atmosphere of that time. Events of the middle of the last century provide the writers with valuable material, immersing the viewer in the life of Soviet citizens.

The great tragedies of a small town

Another film, the script for which was written by Eduard Volodarsky, fully corresponds to the classics of the genre - "It all began in Harbin". A narrative about how life can change in a very short period of time, regardless of social status, marital status and talents. And it's not just about the crippled fates of a single family, but also about the fact that there were millions of such fates. Many people did not like the film. Too tragic is the fate of all actors. Yes, the main character in the performance of Danila Kozlovsky remained alive, but his life has almost passed, the only thing that can be hoped for is a modest post on the railway, with which, in general, everything began. But the author makes it clear that the years spent in the camps are nothing compared to the trials that he faced at large. The struggle for survival, constant humiliation and fear of choice can break any person.

"It all began in Harbin" - a tape, also based on real events. The railway on the border of the Union, China and Japan for a long time was an apple of discord. As a result - about two thousand crippled fates.

Courtyard ham

All the work of the writer is about difficult fates. This is what attracts the viewer. Many scenarios are based on real stories.

For example, the story "Goodbye, punks Zamoskvoretskaya." Based on this story, a film with the same name was shot, which the audience was able to evaluate in 1987, and in 2010 the film was released as a series under a different name. Volodarsky Eduard ("Everyone has his own war" - a tape he considers an autobiography), who grew up in the postwar period, understands how difficult it was not just to survive, but to remain a man loyal to his principles.

The plot of the film takes us to one of the Moscow communal areas, where the main characters are trying to cope with the difficulties of that time. The heroine Polina Kutepova - Lyubasha - the embodiment of a real Russian woman - staunch and courageous, but at the same time kind and loving. No less characteristic are other roles, for example, the hero of Igor Petrenko. The actor appeared in front of the audience in a completely new role, he remarkably fit into the role of a fraudulent criminal.

The protagonist, of course, is present, but Eduard Volodarsky "Shtrafbat" shot so that the plot develops not only around the central image. Each character takes his place, making the picture complete.

Of course, as always, there were many critics who were dissatisfied with the film, some compare the two screen versions, which is basically wrong. The films were shot at different times, and not all the ideas that the film's authors embodied in the new screen version could be voiced at that time, but in general viewers are happy. Everyone has found something of their own, familiar. For the younger generation it is a palace romance and sincere feelings, for the older generation - memories, sometimes sad, sometimes cheerful. In any case, the film deserves to be viewed.

Instead of an epilogue

This scenario was the last work of Eduard Volodarsky. You can criticize his work as much as you like, trying to find out historical inaccuracies, and scold the masters for excessive drama, the desire to discredit the Soviet regime, but we, our children and grandchildren, will long review the favorite movies, re-experiencing the events together with the heroes. All the films look in one breath, every new series is waiting impatiently, you catch every phrase, so as not to miss the most important. Perhaps, there is not a single life situation that would not be affected in his works. Looking through the film, you involuntarily try on this or that act of the hero, you try to understand how you would act if you were in his place. Volodarsky's films make you think, which is very good.
