Rolan Gusev was born on September 17, 1977 in the city of Ashgabat, in the Turkmen SSR, where he started playing football. However, in 1986 the Roland family moved to Moscow, where he was able to enter the football academy of the local "Dynamo". It was there that he started playing football professionally, and in 1995 he signed a full-fledged contract with the club. The player was very talented, so to play for the main team began at the age of seventeen. In the first season, he played 16 games, but so far he has not claimed a place in the starting lineup. In 1998, he marked the first goal for his native club, and by 1999 he became the player of the base. It was then that Gusev began to flourish as a football player of the highest level. Three seasons he spent as a key player of Dynamo, having played in the sum of 127 matches and scoring 22 goals. However, with the current club Roland Gusev was able to reach only the third place in the Russian championship, and his potential was much more impressive. That's why in 2002 the inevitable happened - Gusev moved from "Dynamo" to CSKA. CSKA paid for the midfielder three million euros, which was at that time an impressive amount, especially for the Russian championship.

Playing in CSKA

Roland Gusev is a footballer who turned out to be one of the best in Russia at one time. And it was in CSKA that he was able to reach the peak of his career. In the first season, he flashed, punching fifteen goals in thirty matches. In total, he spent six seasons in CSKA, going on the field 143 times and scoring 33 goals. Together with the army team he became the champion of Russia three times, won the Cup of Russia four times, and in 2005 CSKA even won the UEFA Cup, the second most important trophy in European football. However, just at that time, the player's career began to decline - he began to receive less and less practice in CSKA, so in the winter of 2008, for 750 thousand euros, he moved to "Dnepr", moving to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian period

The 31-year-old Gusev was no longer the star player he had been at the very beginning of the performances for CSKA, so he could not even get caught in the Dnipro - he played only eleven games for the whole year. As a result, the next year he was sent to rent in Kiev "Arsenal", where he played eight matches. Then his lease was extended for another season, and he added 17 matches and the first goal on the territory of Ukraine to his account. When Gusev returned to the Dnieper, his contract was not renewed, so he was able to fully participate in the Arsenal, for which he played one more season, went on the field 23 times, scored two goals, and in the summer of 2011 announced the completion Career.
