Restoration of the bath itself or with the help of specialists

Your bath has lost its former perfect look, the enamel has cracked and become rough, but there is no money to buy a new bathroom? The situation directly say unpleasant, but not hopeless at all! You can refresh the bath by breathing new life into the old cover, without even resorting to the services of specialists.

Naturally, the factory enamelling is more reliable than that made at home. But if the cast-iron body is still in excellent condition, then replacing the old bath with a new one is a very wasteful option. In addition, if you prefer a restoration replacement, then avoid the need to turn off the sewer and water devices, that is, the difficulties associated with the dismantling and transfer of the bath.

However, it should be noted that the restoration of the bath is possible only with small defects: rust, stains, roughness, an unpleasant dirty yellow color. If the case itself is deformed or has significant cracks, the only way out of the situation is to purchase a new bathroom.

There are several ways of proven methods of bath restoration:

1. Acrylic liner. In the old bath with a mounting foam insert liner thickness of 5-7 mm. This method is characterized by quick installation and the possibility of using the bath already after 7 hours after installation, but the performance characteristics of the acrylic baths leave much to be desired.

2. An infusion pool. At the same time, a special composition (stakril) is used, which itself spreads through the bath, filling the irregularities and cracks. Its surplus flows through a special drain. Pouring baths dry for a long time (about 4 days), during operation they are easily scratched.

3. Enamelling of the surface. The method of restoration of the bath, involving the application of enamel on the treated surface, which has a large color palette and low cost, but the use of an updated bathroom is possible only 5-7 days after its restoration.

The first two methods involve the involvement of specialists. Restoration of the bath requires certain skills. If you decide to independently restore the bath, the most acceptable option is the enamelling of the surface. For her, you should buy enamel, degreaser and cleaning powder, as well as abrasive stone (in its absence, you should take a coarse-grained sandpaper for these purposes).

The process of enameling the bath includes the following steps:

1. Preparatory work. It is necessary to remove the enamel from the old bath. This is done with a cleaning agent and abrasive stone, and roughness and rust are also cleaned.

2. Formed soap film together with abrasive chips should be thoroughly washed off with water.

3. Degreasing. To do this, you can use any degreaser. If this step is neglected, the enamel will soon peel off.

4. Cleaning the tub. For cleaning, fill the bath to the brim with hot water, drain it after 20 minutes and wipe the bath dry.

5. Preparation of the working staff. To act, it is necessary, following the recommendations placed on the enamel package: mix the hardener with enamel.

6. Application of the formulation. Apply enamel to the surface with a flat brush made of natural nap. The accuracy of the enamel depends on the quality of the work performed and the period of the subsequent operation of the renewed bath.

7. After the first layer has dried, approximately 15 minutes later you can start applying the second one. It is necessary to wait for the complete drying of the new coating (it takes about a week).

Proper care of the restored bathroom:

1. When cleaning, do not use cleaning powders, especially acid-containing powders.

2. You can use washing powders or ordinary dishwashing detergents.

3. It is necessary to wash the bath after each use session, not bringing it to such a state that it will require the use of strong remedies.

4. It is not allowed to hit the bath with varnish and bleach
