Rafting through Vishera. Rest in the Perm region. River Vishera, Perm Territory

The Urals are a mountain chain that runs along the eastern border of Europe. The ridge is a natural barrier between Europe and Asia. These are very old mountains, but it is assumed that earlier they were the most grandiose stone massif on the planet. Their height has worn off with time, only the form has remained. Tourists, who are attracted by rest in the Perm region, get a unique opportunity to visit simultaneously two continents: Europe and Asia.

Nature of the Urals

The unique nature of these places, no doubt, is a legacy of Russia and the world. If you look at the Perm Krai from a bird's eye view, the picture will be impressive: a dense network of blue rivers scattered across the green cover of spruce forests.

Natural resources are inexhaustible: more than 30 thousand rivers and lakes, and two-thirds of the territory is covered with dense forests. Rest in the Perm region is a tour to the border of Europe and Asia, to where the Ural ridge is very near. And the appearance of these places is imbued with ancient legends, it seems that they are as old as the chain of mountains. Endless plains, mighty rocks, mystical caves - that's what gives the terrain a unique color and originality.

Eco-tourism and recreation

Active leisure, rafting in Vishera, hunting and fishing are not all the pleasures that tourism can provide in the Urals. Local forest can be called a jungle, because it looks like an impenetrable wall of mixed plant species. However, unlike the tropical jungle, the local flora is called the taiga. Traveling on it is always a risk to go astray, to lose a path. Despite the unpredictability of the venture, wishing to make fantastic pictures of wildlife and breathe crystal clear air becomes more and more. On the banks of Vishera, a special flora. For example, on the Vetlan rock there are vascular plants that are included in the regional Red Book. There also grows an elegant plant - a peony evading.

The rivers of the Urals

The largest rivers in the region are Kama and Chusovaya. Vishera - only the fifth in the length of its pond. However, it is the journey through it that makes it possible to enjoy the most beautiful views of the local wildlife. The basin of Vishera covers 241 thousand hectares. The Sverdlovsk Region is the place where the Vishera River originates. The Perm region borders on it and takes the river belt as a continuation of the relay race. The bulk of the water flows through the foothills, which gives Vishera the temper of a fast mountain beauty with a lot of rapids and rapids. However, closer to the middle stream, the reservoir becomes deeper, and the current slows down. The average height above sea level is 300 meters. Further the mountain river flows from the left side to the Kama, forming the Kama reservoir.

Three quarters of coastal land is covered with dark taiga. Coloring creates coniferous trees that predominate in the forests. These are natural spruce forests that have not been cut down or affected by humans.

Rifting in the Urals

In order to raft on this mountain river, special training is not required. Often tours are performed by families with children, since the Vishera rafting is not dangerous. Most travelers use conventional catamarans, but some go on a kayak or inflatable boat tour. The middle course of the river opens the most picturesque views. Here there are grandiose stone blocks, among which are the Pit stone, Vetlan and Pole.

Legendary Stones

The written stone is located 50 km east of Krasnovishersk, on the right bank of Vishera. Nearby is the village of the same name. The right bank is a steep cliff in 80 m high. The stone massif is divided into separate blocks by logs. In one of these cliffs there is a cave, decorated from the inside with ohren drawings. In the depths of the cave, places of sacrifice of the Neolithic, Copper and Iron Ages, as well as the Middle Ages were found. This stone is regularly visited by tourists who make rafting in Vishera. On the shore there are comfortable camping grounds, and along the slopes there are trails leading up to where there is a beautiful view of the valley. Vetlan is not just a rock, but a huge rock with a length of 1,750 km and a height of 100 meters. A legend is associated with this place, explaining the local names.

Vetlan and Pole, according to legend, are two heroes who were friendly and equally powerful. They fell in love with the beautiful virgin Vischer.

Two young men began to compete for the right to take her as their wife and began to throw huge boulders into each other. So it lasted six days and six nights, and on the seventh day they turned into two stony shores, and the beautiful Vishera separates them.

Top view better

In order to rise, in 2003 an observation staircase was installed. If you look at the surface of the water from above, you will see the most splendid view of the local nature. This landscape became the main visiting card of the region in the film "The Ridge of Russia" by Alexei Ivanov and Yevgeny Parfenov . In addition, another page of the history of the country is connected with this place. There are silent witnesses to repressive times: man-made islands - ryazhi, who served in the 20-30s of the last century as an artificial division of the reservoir. They were built by the prisoners of Visherlag, among whom was the world-famous writer Varlam Shalamov. Today, only the tops of the rattlers are visible, the rest has to be imagined.

The main routes of rifting

Most of the routes for rafting are designed for six days and start from the village of Mutiha in Krasnovishersky district.

For all comers there are organized trips from Perm, the capital of the region. On the bus, tourists are taken to the base in Mutih, where an experienced guide conducts briefings and helps the expedition members to collect equipment and prepare catamarans.

The same evening the group begins rafting along Vishera to the Writ of Stone, where the first night will be. The next morning, tourists visit the famous grotto. On the third day rafting along the river Vishera will lead the voyagers to the Great Shchugor River. Rifting here is very calm, Vishera is deep, the flow is strong enough. There is no need to row very much - you can relax to see everything that opens the admiring glance around.

In another day travelers travel to Vyšegorsk and spend the night in the village of Govorlivoye. Immediately the group remains for the whole next day in order to enjoy the delights of rural life and see the history of the region first hand. Guests will find a bath, a meal and jumping over the fire.

On the last day, tourists visit the cliff of Vetlan and go to the base in the village of Bahari, Krasnovishersky district.

Wise people

Another worth mentioning separately is that on the territory of the Vishera basin there is one of the largest reserves in Europe. In addition to the amazing landscapes of nature, which is located at the intersection of not only the East and West, but also the North with the South, one can get acquainted with the culture of the life of the once powerful Mansi people. Now this is the last place in Russia, where its indigenous people are in natural conditions. For the Mansi ethnos, the male picture of the world is peculiar, and this is not surprising, since the main occupations of indigenous Perm are reindeer breeding and hunting.

The rivers and forests of the reserve are still rich in living creatures, and the air is like a crystal in its purity. This is due primarily to the inaccessibility of the territory. You can not get here by bus or car. But you can get on a helicopter or on foot. Rafting through Vishera is also one of the few ways to get into the reserve.

Mansi learned to coexist with their land and take care of it, it also gives them everything necessary for life.

Rafting as an alternative holiday

Active rest unites families and helps to make new friends. Often people begin to engage in rifting as ordinary tourists, but soon they will independently explore the reserved places, and then quite different sensations give an alloy on Vishera. Individual groups choose their route based on their interests, often combining skiing on the river with fishing and hunting.
