This type of system operates on a fairly simple principle, the coolant in it is water or antifreeze. The boiler heats the liquid, after which it circulates through the closed contour of the pipeline and radiators, transferring them heat. The process of movement in this case can be forced or natural. It is also accepted to distinguish between single-tube and two-pipe water heating of a private house.

The simplest of the systems works by the principle of circulation of the coolant naturally. Its movement through the pipelines is activated due to the difference in the density of cold and hot water: the second is lighter, so it rises in the riser to the heating devices. When heat is transferred to the entire system, the liquid is returned through the return line for subsequent heating. In risers that are cooled, the pressure of the coolant is much higher than in the main one, which is supplied by the hot liquid. This difference leads to the fact that when entering the boiler, the cooled water expels already heated, ensuring its continuous circulation. This principle is very convenient.

The private house water heating system will function normally with natural circulation if the difference in temperatures between the incoming and outgoing streams is at least 20-25 degrees. Maintenance of constant movement is possible only at warming of the basic riser. A certain difference in the height of the pipes and the distance between the radiators should also be observed. That is why heating equipment is usually recommended to be mounted in the basement, where the fuel storage is traditionally arranged. This option allows not only to provide efficient water heating to a private house, but also to build a greenhouse in the attic.

If there is no basement room, then the boiler should be mounted on the basement floor, corresponding to the level of the heating appliances located on the first floor of the building. In this case, the center of the equipment is recommended to be placed vertically below the axis of the installed heating devices, the necessary displacement is usually achieved at the expense of the pit.

If you do the water heating of a private house with your own hands, it is worthwhile to know that the system that carries out the work on the principle of natural circulation, usually functions somewhere for 15-30 meters. At this length, a pressure drop is usually carried out. It is spent on overcoming friction within the system. Its reduction is achieved through the use of pipes with a larger diameter. The apertures of the heating devices must also be as large as possible.

It is possible to organize a system that will be equipped with a small pump, with forced circulation of liquid. This will ensure a significant velocity of the coolant.
