Casserole in general dish is a win-win, as you can use for cooking anything, especially when you learn about the unexpected upcoming visit of guests who in an hour and a half will be already on the doorstep.

So, if you have ready-made minced meat, a kilogram of potatoes and a little cheese in your fridge, you can not panic - a potato casserole with meat will help you out! Option 1 (with minced meat).

For cooking, you need meat minced meat, onions, potatoes, small carrots, cheese, egg, salt, a little sour cream, pepper and a pinch of salt. How to cook?

While the potatoes are boiled in salted water, you can peel onions and carrots, chop them finely and put them lightly in vegetable oil in a frying pan, put raw ground meat there, roast, add a little crumbled dill, all this pepper and salt to taste. If the minced meat gives a little juice, then add a bit of boiled water or potato broth (the potato is almost ready for you at that moment).

When the potatoes are cooked as for mashed potatoes, the water is drained off and, by squeezing the potatoes well, add a raw egg and a pinch of soda into it. For the splendor, you can mix it up lightly with a mixer (it should turn out fluffy, but not liquid, look for consistency, if it turns out to be too thin, add a little flour in the mash and mix again). Also it is possible to put in the potato "dough" a finely chopped dill, this casserole will make not only more fragrant, but also the layer of potatoes will look very impressive.

Next, take a baking dish (better glass), grease with oil (you can sprinkle the bottom and sides with breadcrumbs) and lay out the layers of potatoes and meat stuffing - first the potato layer, put minced meat on top, again the potato layer. Align well and from above apply a thin layer of thick sour cream, mixed with egg yolk or sprinkle with grated cheese and send to the oven. Bake for about 20 minutes on medium heat.

Potatoes here are cooked the same way as for casserole with minced meat, but the meat for the filling should be boiled in advance, cut it into small pieces or turn through a large grate in a meat grinder, fry along with onions in butter (in this version, I prefer not to cut onions , And cut into half rings or quarters of thin onion rings), add spices (salt, pepper, you can others that you like to add to meat dishes) and a little meat broth so that the stuffing is not dry. We re-fry everything and just as accurately form our "layered pie" from potatoes and meat stuffing.

By the way, if such a potato casserole with meat is cooked in the summer, when the eggplants appear, you can pre-fry the small cubes of eggplant beforehand (one small will be enough), add them to the meat stuffing. It will be a little longer in time, but the taste will be unusual. The main thing is not to be afraid to experiment!
