Pigeon of paper as a mascot of happiness and carefree

From paper, you can create a lot of crafts that do not require much effort and significant costs. As toys they develop in children perception of form and color, spatial and creative thinking, fine motor skills. For older children, the origami thing will also be interesting.

The white dove is a symbol of peace on Earth. Even in ancient times this bird was a symbol of prosperity and fertility. Already in the twentieth century, it acquired a specific meaning. For the first time the symbol of a dove appeared in 1949 in Paris and Prague at the first World Congress of Peace Supporters. The bird (emblem of the congress) was drawn by Pablo Picasso. The emblem depicted a white dove carrying a sprig of olive in its beak.

It is not necessary to buy and keep the house of a live pigeon, it can be made from improvised materials. Pigeon of paper can also be a symbol of prosperity, peace and joy in any home or even in an office space. These beautiful birds can be made in origami technique, write on the wings a beautiful wish (congratulation), give to a loved one.

In order for you to have a beautiful and smooth pigeon-origami, you need a sheet of thick paper (cardboard) and another less dense, scissors, a pencil.

The manufacturing process will be as follows:

  1. On a dense sheet of pencil draw the silhouette of the body of the bird. It should be of medium size, so that you can then attach the wings. When the drawing is ready, proceed to the next step.
  2. Take the scissors and carefully cut out the silhouette of the bird on the contour. If it is assumed that the pigeon of paper will not be one, the cut silhouette is used as a stencil and penciled on the other sheets. You can take sheets of different colors, then you get a whole multicolored dove.
  3. Now start making wings. Take the second, thin sheet of paper. We bend the top of the sheet one side to 1,5-2 cm, then the other, and so on to the end of the sheet. The result is an accordion. This is the wings.
  4. In the cardboard body, with a pair of scissors, carefully make a slot in the place where the wings will be inserted. It is better to make a cut in the shape of a cross, so that later our dove from the paper could "fly off". To do this, use sharp (for example, manicure) scissors.
  5. Push the wings into the slot so that they look at both sides evenly. Now they need to be straightened so that the top edge of the sheet is pushed into the slot from above, and the bottom - into the horizontal slot, the central part remains in the middle of the slot. As a result, wings are formed in the form of a fan on both sides of the trunk.
  6. Now you can color the handcraft the way you like. Pigeon made of paper is ready!

In the same way you can do other birds. If you attach a ribbon or thread to a gizmo, you can hang it. The model of a paper pigeon captivates with its elegance, simplicity of manufacture and the ability to launch it into flight.

When making a more complex version of the dove, triangular origami modules are used, from which a very beautiful voluminous bird is composed. But for this you need to learn the technique of origami, which, in fact, is not so complicated, but it requires perseverance and patience.
