Perennial flowers unpretentious for a garden (photo)
Most owners of holiday villages dream of a garden, caring for which requires minimal effort and time. Today, there are a lot of different perennial plants on sale, and it's quite difficult to orientate in this huge assortment not only to a beginner, but also an experienced gardener.
External conditions
Choosing perennial plants that you want to "settle" on your site, build on the soil on it, how many sunny and shady places. It is not necessary to place sun-loving plants on shaded and wet areas, in such conditions they, perhaps, will survive, but their appearance, and even more so the flowering, is unlikely to please you. A simple example is the most unpretentious flowers for the garden: varietal yarrow, stahis woolly, more known to gardeners as "sheep's ears", a variety of wormwood, for example Steller, Schmidt or Louisiana.
If you provide the flowers with the usual conditions for them, then care for them will be much less.
Beautiful garden at any time of year
Every gardener dreams that from early spring until late autumn his site was blooming and attractive. To realize this dream in life, picking flowers unpretentious for the garden, it is worth choosing them in such a way that they alternate, and not simultaneously blossomed and reached the peak of their beauty. In addition, it is desirable that they mask these or other seemingly not very attractive features or disadvantages of each other.
The tulips of Greig, Foster, Kaufmann and other small plants such as Hoonodoxes, Muscari, Crocuses do not require an annual excavation and please us with their flowering, while others just wake up. But by the end of spring they fade, and their foliage withers and turns yellow. It does not look very beautiful, but it is impossible to cut off the above-ground part of plants. All this will help to mask the aquilations - very unpretentious flowers for the garden, the photos of which are presented below, as well as such ornamental-deciduous plants as cuffs, hosts, lungworts and dummers.
Let's take a closer look at which of the many years of unpretentious plants will be able to decorate the shaded areas of the garden.
Decorate the shady corner
Practically in any garden there are places, deprived of the attention of the gardener. The reason for this - the constant shading and a small number of sun rays on it. In addition, if they tried to plant a "decent" plant, it either died, or looked painful and unsightly. However, such shady corners can decorate unpretentious flowers for the garden, preferring to grow in the shade. Shade perennials are mostly herbaceous plants with beautiful and juicy foliage, preferring moist soils.
Primroses
In early spring, when the trees are not covered with foliage and the sun warms up such areas, they will please with their flowering:
- Snowdrops (Galanthus);
- Galler's crust;
- Scallops (Scilla);
- Siberian and European Kandyks.
These flowers are perennials. For the garden unpretentious and not troublesome, since they can be planted both jointly and in separate species groups. All these plants quickly grow nests of tubers and onions, and besides, they spread well by self-seeding. Foliage of them dies out imperceptibly and very quickly, so there is no need for any disguise.
Flowers of the middle of spring
After the first flowers, botanical tulips and violets, brunners and wild peonies, badans and irises warty, colorful decorative lilies of the valley are blossoming - all these are unpretentious flowers. For a garden with old trees, where there are many shady corners, they will become a wonderful decoration. All these plants are perennials, besides they multiply well by self-seeding. Wild peony, in contrast to its cultural relatives, prefers to grow and beautifully blossoms in the shadow or penumbra. About brunners, known to many gardeners called "nezabudochniki, should be said specifically.
Happy summer and autumn
In the summer and until the middle of autumn, such winter-hardy perennial plants as multicolored siliceous phloxes, hosts, astilba, tsimitsifugi (klopogons), ornamental ferns and pachisandra look great on strongly shaded areas.
Shilovid phloxes do not feel bad in the shade and blossom first of this species. Fragrant flowers of tender blue, pink and white shades are similar to moths and a few weeks please the eye.
Hosts have long been fond of gardeners, but picking plants for planting in the shade, it is better to stop on varieties with light or blue foliage. Astilby - very beautiful flowers-perennials for the garden. Unobtrusive plants with elegant openwork foliage, if properly selected, can please their flowering all summer. In addition, breeders created a variety of varieties with inflorescences of a variety of colors and shapes.
But tsimitsifuga, better known under the name "klopogon", throughout the summer will decorate the garden with its carved, slightly like astilbum foliage, and in autumn will enjoy its flowering.
Effectively decorate the shady areas of various buzulniki - ligulyarii. Varieties of this plant are many, there are with green and red, and even brown-chocolate-colored leaves, such as, for example, the variety Osiris Café Noir. In our gardens, the Przewalski buzzon is most common, with strongly dissected green leaves and tall, sunny yellow peduncles growing to a meter.
In a light shadow
Most of the above-mentioned shade-loving perennials grow well in the penumbra. Decorate a slightly shaded area and such flowers are unpretentious for the garden, like aquilegia, dorenikum and dicenter. And if the dorenikum will please you with chamomile-like yellow flowers, then the petals of aquilegia today are of all colors and shades. Flowers at the centers can also be different - pink, cherry, white or bicolour, and after flowering its large decorative leaves look great.
It decorates plots in a light shade and such a ground-cover perennial as a wretch. It blossoms quite modestly - small, bell-like flowers, but it is ornamental all season thanks to its leaves. In different varieties they can be completely silvery, with a small green border on the edge or covered with silvery specks of different sizes.
To fill empty spaces, such soil cover plants as creeper and periwinkle are good.
On a sunny meadow ...
If the site is sunny and practically does not exist in the shade, then perennials such as echinacea, heliopsis, decorative varieties of yarrow and cleansers, shrub asters, daylilies, wormwood, as well as ornamental grasses will grow and develop well .
We tried to tell you which flowers are the most unpretentious for a garden, but only you can choose and grow the plants most suitable for you and your plot!
