The Institute in Leningrad, now called the St. Petersburg Pediatric Medical Academy (University), led not only educational activities. His tasks included the provision of medical care to people in the clinical hospital, which is part of the educational institution, the conduct of scientific research by scientists working here. During the Great Patriotic War, the activities of the Institute did not change. He continued to train doctors in bomb shelters.
