When intestinal form in animals develop catarrhal changes in the digestive tract. They are manifested by frequent loose stools, vomiting. In a feces there can be blood veins. All this takes place against a background of high temperature.

When the cutaneous form on the skin of the abdomen and the inner surface of the legs appear papular rashes, which are then covered with crusts. This form is considered the easiest, but sometimes it turns into a catarrhal or nervous form.

With nervous form the dogs are excited. They have high fever, tonic and clonic convulsions, convulsive spasm of the masticatory muscles, seizures of the epileptic type. This form can quickly lead to the death of the animal.

With a mixed (generalized) form, there may be all of the listed symptoms.

With the course of the disease, the disease is acute, super-fast, lightning-fast and chronic. Overgrowth disease after two or three days ends with coma and the death of the dog.

With lightning fastness, the animal suddenly dies. No symptoms characteristic of the plague may be present.

Acute illness can last up to a month. Then the dog recovers. Sometimes, which often happens with a nervous form, the disease becomes chronic.

Cramping in dogs, symptoms, treatment is quite complicated. When an animal is ill, a fast and qualified veterinarian's help is needed. Antibiotics do not act on the virus, they are used only against secondary infection. Treatment consists in the removal of intoxication, the introduction of vitamin and fortifying agents. Symptomatic therapy is performed to relieve febrile, convulsive and other symptoms.

Prevention of the disease consists in vaccination against plague and the correct maintenance of dogs, excluding contact with sick animals.
