Papilloma on the labia. Removal of papillomas on the labia
Benign skin formation in the form of a "fungus" on a small foot, which suddenly appears on the human body, is known among doctors as papilloma or genital warts. And, unfortunately, this is not just a cosmetic defect: this small growth on the skin can be a serious threat to the health of both men and women. According to statistics, every fourth inhabitant of the planet suffers from papillomatosis.
Today we will talk about what they are, in particular, papillomas on the genital small lips of women, how they appear and how to get rid of them.
Where do papillomas come from?
The reason that a patient develops benign tumors is the virus of papillomatosis, which characterizes a high degree of infectiousness.
You risk catching or passing it at the time of sexual intercourse with a virtually 100% guarantee! And it does not depend on the kind of contact: the virus is transmitted and with oral caresses, and anal sex.
HPV (human papilloma virus) remains for some time on bed and underwear, there is also a risk of infection in swimming pools, baths and saunas. Every third woman is the carrier of the described virus, although, fortunately, he does not show himself in the overwhelming majority of cases.
Than the virus of a papillomatosis is dangerous
About 5% of these "genital warts," as Hippocrates called them, degenerate into malignant ones. Recent studies have confirmed that the papilloma on the labia or in the vagina very often provokes the development of cancer of the cervix or external genitalia.
Symptoms of papillomatosis in women
As a rule, the activated virus gives out the appearance of a wart - papilloma on small lips. Often, when examined by a gynecologist, this neoplasm is found on both the vagina and the cervix. Papillomas also occur around the anus.
Such manifestations are accompanied by painful sensations, itching or small bloody discharge after sexual intercourse (this happens because the walls of these lesions are thin and easily injured). In addition, women pay attention to the appearance in some cases of a fetid odor of secretions.
Features of the human papillomavirus
In order for the virus to somehow manifest itself, it needs a certain amount of it, so it unlimitedly "slumbers" in the body for both men and women, waiting for the right moment.
This moment arises as a result of stresses that undermine immunity, hormonal disorders, chronic diseases, venereal infections and other unfavorable factors. Then the HPV is activated and begins a violent multiplication. In a woman, for example, the papilloma on the labia seals over time and grabs the perineum, proving to be in the vagina and cervix.
Is it possible to infect the clean areas of my body with papilloma?
It is worth noting that it is quite difficult to transfer the virus from one affected area to another on its body to the "master".
This applies to the entire surface of the skin, except the labia. It's easy to infect them. This feature is explained by the fact that the thickness of the skin surface here is rather small, and besides it is for various reasons easily traumatized. All this leads to the fact that HPV almost freely penetrates into the epithelium and is firmly fixed there.
Types of diseases caused by the papillomatosis virus
Papillomas differ not only in number and size, but also in the degree of risk of cancer. They are divided into the following types:
- Group without risk of disease (genital warts);
- Condylomas of medium risk;
- Cancerous condylomas.
It is practically impossible to separate papillomas by external signs into belonging to a particular group. This is done only by laboratory analysis.
How can the disease process develop?
Physicians identify four most likely ways of development of the described disease:
- Regress of genital warts (similar to 17% of infected);
- Stabilization of the process;
- Active growth, which leads to radical intervention;
- Malignancy (5% of cases).
In women, the papilloma on the labia is also a place of permanent trauma, which can lead to inflammatory processes and significantly increases the risk of infection and other diseases.
Removal of papillomas on the labia
Treatment of the same disease in women is carried out after examination of the cervix (to exclude malignancies in it). If necessary (which is set by the doctor), the warts are removed.
It is a quick and painless procedure that does not leave a scar. It is done surgically, with the help of a laser, electrocoagulation, ozone therapy or radio wave therapy.
But we must not forget about the need to treat concomitant diseases and restore a healthy vaginal microflora.
After removal, the patient is usually given immunostimulating drugs to maintain the body's resistance. Subsequently it is important to conduct periodic examinations for the timely detection of new papillomas and their removal.
How to prevent the appearance of papillomas?
As you have probably seen, the papilloma on the labia of a woman - this is not a random phenomenon. Its appearance is preceded by several favorable factors, considering which it is possible to prevent infection. Thus, it is possible to identify some preventive measures. This is the regulation of sexual contacts, the use of condoms and the strengthening of immunity, which is able to defeat HPV and prevent it from developing.
