Pain in the abdomen, appendicitis, symptoms of its manifestation.

If there is a pain syndrome in the abdominal region, in particular on the left side, it is not recommended to use independent treatment, as this can have irreversible consequences. Quite often, the cause of pain is appendicitis, the symptoms of which are pronounced, this disease requires urgent surgical intervention.

Appendicitis is used to call the inflammation of a vermiform appendix 15 centimeters long, located in the abdominal cavity of a person and performing the function of protecting against bacteria in the caecum. Thus, acute appendicitis, the symptoms of which are manifested in acute pain in the left side of the abdomen, can be observed in people of different age categories, regardless of their gender. 70% of people are affected by this disease, and only 0.1% of people die due to appendicitis aggravation, so early diagnosis of the disease is urgently needed to prevent death.

The causes of exacerbation of appendicitis are currently controversial. However, some of them are distinguished:

- getting into an appendix of foreign bodies, stones or worms;

- bend of the appendix;

- penetration of the vermicular appendage of feces;

- inflammation of the intestine;

- the presence of infection in the body;

- trauma to the abdomen.

Therefore, appendicitis symptoms are pronounced, and the causes of its appearance can be quite different. The main sign of inflammation of the appendix is the appearance of pain in the upper part of the abdomen, which gradually spreads to the right side and descends. Often pain is given to the right hypochondrium, back and anus.

The disease has three stages of development - catarrhal, phlegmonous and gangrenous. With catarrhal appendicitis, the appendix is inflamed, the temperature of the patient is somewhat overestimated. In the absence of other signs, people often do not go to the hospital, so the disease goes into the phlegmonous stage of development, in which the appendix starts to rot, causing inflammation of the tissues of the intestines and peritoneum, and painful sensations arise. In the event that an operation to remove the process is not performed, the gangrenous stage begins, in which the inflammation spreads throughout the abdominal cavity, the health condition becomes worse, the stomach swells, it becomes difficult to move. Without surgical intervention, the appendix can burst, so pus enters the abdominal cavity, causing blood infection. Human life in this case is endangered. When gangrenous form of appendicitis symptoms manifests such as in which there is nausea and vomiting, indigestion, the temperature usually does not rise.

Thus, appendicitis manifests itself gradually, first the appendix swells, later it becomes filled with a purulent mass, within three days of the appearance of the first symptoms, the appendix breaks, and peritonitis, which is dangerous for human life, develops.

It can be said that appendicitis, symptoms, diagnosis of it are difficult to determine, because they can change, so in frequent cases a blood test as well as urine tests are performed. To make an accurate diagnosis, use ultrasound or computer tomography, in rare cases, an X-ray. With the help of computer tomography you can see the changes in the tissues of the peritoneum and intestines. In medicine, when diagnosing this disease, the laparoscopy method is also used, which is an excellent method that gives a 100% result.

Thus, appendicitis has different symptoms, but the main thing is considered to be the appearance of sharp, pulling pains in the abdominal region. Depending on the manifestation of symptoms, the stages of the development of the disease are distinguished. The method of treating appendicitis is reduced to its complete removal. Removal can be performed both surgically and with laparoscopy, when it was used in the diagnosis. In case of an incorrect appendix placement, the doctor performs a classical operation.
