On-board cars: delivery of heavy, bulky or compact cargo in the shortest possible time

The most common mode of transport for cargo transportation is considered to be on-board cars. Economically profitable and maneuverable, they are ready to carry out the delivery of heavy, bulky or compact cargo in the shortest possible time. Transportation of goods by on-board machines can be carried out under any weather conditions.

Type and characteristics of transport

The length of the onboard cars varies from 6 to 13 meters. The average series of onboard platforms is designed for a mass of 25 tons. You can use the services of foreign, domestic cars of the following brands:

  • GAS;
  • MAZ;
  • KamAZ;
  • VOLVO and others.

These cars are equipped with specialized installations for reliable fixation and fast loading of transported items. Machines are obliged to regularly undergo maintenance, and also under the control of indicators of the vehicle's onboard voltage, so it is unlikely that something will fail during transportation, loading and unloading, or when climbing to a height.

Benefits of using

Machines with an on-board platform have recently become very popular, as the scope of their application is constantly increasing. This is explained by several factors:

  • Transport has a high speed and excellent traffic in urban conditions;
  • On-board cars are considered universal, as they are suitable for transportation of a wide variety of goods - construction materials and components, machinery, food with limited shelf life;
  • Unpretentious to road conditions.

On-board cars with awning are considered the most popular. This is an inexpensive, but reliable option for transporting a fixed load. The tent will protect it from dust, rain and snow.

Classification of transport

Onboard trucks, however, like many other trucks, are divided into classes with respect to the carrying capacity: light (about 1.5 tons) and heavy (about 60 tons). Such trucks are quite popular and common, because they can be installed on a truck mounted crane. The body of a lorry of this type is often open, which allows you to carry only the cargo that is resistant to adverse weather conditions. In most cases, these are building materials, for example brick, pipes and the like.

On-board cargo transportation is often divided into classes of carrying capacity:

  • 1 ton - the bright representatives are "Sable" and "Hyundai-Porter";
  • 1.5 tons - most often "Gazelle";
  • 3 tons - this category includes ZIL and similar cars;
  • 5 tons - onboard ZIL;
  • 10 tons - onboard car KamAZ or MAZ without trailers;
  • 15 tons - representatives of this class are ZIL, KamAZ and MAZ;
  • 20 tons - the category covers the onboard KamAZ, MAZ with the presence of trailers and without them.

Methods of fastening loads

In the process of securing cargo, one of three methods can be used:

  • Clamp;
  • Stretch marks;
  • Blocking.

Thanks to the clamping method, the frictional force between the body base and the load itself increases. It is carried out by means of belts, ropes or cables. To fix the load is quite simple: you need to throw the pressure belts through the load, which is placed on the platform, and attach with a stretch on the edges of the bead. This method is convenient and very common, but not the most reliable.

The way of fastening by stretching has a higher level of security. For fastening, you will need four high-quality belts and the same number of staples that are hooked onto the metal brackets, ensuring reliable fixation. Unlike the previous method, much less belts are used here.

Mounting by blocking is that the load must be closely adjacent to another load or to specially placed structures that abut the sides. Thus, it is prevented from moving horizontally. The amount of cargo should not exceed the edge of the sides, otherwise it is necessary to take care of the secure attachment. The only shortcoming of transportation by airborne vehicles without an awning is that the cargo is not protected from possible damage by unfavorable weather conditions or as a result of dirt.

On-board cargo transportation is, perhaps, the most simple and widely used type of transportation. Carrying cargo with an open side body, you have free access to it, which simplifies the process of loading and unloading. If necessary, you can use the tap. The cost of working onboard trucks is much lower compared to the transportation of containers or eurofuries.
