Old English diet - the way to a thin waist

In English boarding houses for rich girls from aristocratic families, the Old English diet was very popular. In the Victorian era girls of a fragile constitution were valued, without this quality it was difficult for them to find a suitable party. The boarding house management made a lot of efforts to make the boarders look like a real lady. According to the accepted views, the true lady should have a subtle mind, have a thin wrist and narrow waist. Unfortunately, not all pupils possessed such valuable qualities. And if it was not possible to fix the thickness of the wrists, then to get a thin waist was quite possible. For this, the Old English diet was used, which was applied in almost 90% of the English boarding schools.

The products in those days were quite expensive, and some rancor argued that in this way the management of the boarding houses was trying to save on food. Whatever it was, but periodically all the girls were put on a meager menu, regardless of their physique. In some boarding schools, the diet was used 4 times a year, in others much more often - every few months or even weeks. The Old English diet was used for 5 days, during which time it took several kilograms of excess weight. Slim girls went on weekends to various social events, which also did not take much to eat. Aristocratic ladies also used this diet, which allowed them to dispense with corsets.
