Hypoallergenic diet

Allergy has recently become a disease of the century, which affects all segments of the population, regardless of the age and location in which they live. And because it arises because of the increased sensitivity of the body to allergens - the substances that cause it, then there are several forms of this disease: food, drug, inhalation or air, skin, allergy to insect bites, animal hair, etc.

And in all these cases, a hypoallergenic diet is needed for treatment, which is especially relevant in the food form of the disease. In this case, special nutrition plays simultaneously two roles - treating and diagnostic, because only by observing it, one can find the product that causes allergy and which must be completely excluded from the patient's food.

All products that people use for food are conditionally divided into the following subgroups: low-, medium- and high-allergenic. These are the products that most often cause the allergic reaction.

Hypoallergenic diet should completely exclude:

- Acute, salty, spicy and all kinds of seasonings;

- eggs of almost all birds;

- many fish, caviar, some seafood;

- marinades and canned products, especially those that are produced in cans, as well as stews and canned fish ;

- whole milk products, milk and cheeses;

- sauerkraut, practically all vegetables and fruits of red color, celery, eggplant, sorrel;

- smoked products of all kinds;

- all varieties of citrus fruits;

- dried fruits - figs, dates, dried apricots, raisins; Honey, mushrooms and nuts;

- alcoholic and carbonated drinks, as well as chocolate, coffee and cocoa;

- Any products in which there are preservatives, dyes and other additives.

For each patient, regardless of the form of his allergy, an individual hypoallergenic diet is being developed.

Any treatment should be under the supervision of a doctor. It should be taken into account that the diet with food allergies has very specific differences: after all, the reaction can be caused by even the most harmless food product. Therefore, doctors, as a rule, start with highly allergenic products and by exclusion method reach the others.

Today, buying in the store a ready-made food product, you need to carefully study its composition, since very often it can contain a highly allergenic component. Not even all yoghurts so widely advertised and loved by kids are low allergenic. These are only natural or "live" yogurts, in which there are no chemical additives.

Hypoallergenic diet should last at least three weeks, and if there is a noticeable improvement, the products that were excluded begin to return one at a time to the diet, first in small portions, with an interval of several days, and under the supervision of the attending physician. If the allergy is renewed within three days, it means that the last product introduced is its provocateur.

If there is no improvement in the patient's condition, then it is necessary to continue the gradual exclusion of products, turning to the allergenic ones - some cereals, corn, vegetables and fruits, and low allergenic groups - all other products, including low-fat meat.

In those cases when the infant suffers from allergies, doctors prescribe a hypoallergenic diet of the nursing mother, and the "artificial" babies are given special therapeutic mixtures that are prepared on the basis of highly hydrolyzed protein.

Hypoallergenic diet implies the following rules, which must be adhered to: do not overeat and maximize the variety of the menu with products that are allowed by it, using each of them no more than twice in the whole week.
