OAO NPP "Pyramid" (St. Petersburg) is a large research and production enterprise specializing in the development, manufacture and installation of complex electrical facilities for civil and strategic purposes. Recently, the production of printed circuit boards for electronic computers has been mastered.

Creature

The Pyramid enterprise in St. Petersburg was formed by the order of the Minister of Radio Industry of the Soviet Union on February 27, 1980 and was originally a Leningrad branch of the Granit concern. The tasks of the production and technical enterprise included the support of the construction of unique above-horizon radar stations of the Daryal project.

Construction of engineering and laboratory premises began in 1980 and lasted 6 years. Their total area was more than 10,600 m ² . The production was equipped with the most advanced engineering complexes in the USSR and technical equipment.

Daryal radar

In 1980, Piramid Pyramid was appointed as the lead contractor for the creation of the Daryal type radar at two sites: in Gabala (Azerbaijan) and near the town of Pechora (Komi, ASSR). Until 1986, his employees were engaged in equipping the stations, supervised the installation, commissioning. Also, the specialists of the enterprise developed functional software.

In the end, these were the only stations of the project "Daryal", fully completed and intercepted for combat duty. Today the company "Pyramid" from St. Petersburg provides their services.

Daryal-U radar

In 1984, the organization was entrusted with the installation of structural systems and equipment of modernized radar stations of the Daryal-U class at sites in the Irkutsk and Krasnoyarsk regions and near the town of Balkhash in the Kazakh SSR. Work was conducted until 1995. Unfortunately, in the 1990s, the financing of large-scale, costly projects was wiped out. Projects in various degrees of readiness were frozen, and later dismantled.

The Balkhash radar had the greatest degree of readiness. In 1990, the computer complex was completely installed on the basis of the domestic computer, transmitting and receiving equipment. In 1991, factory tests began. The station was ready for 95%, but after Kazakhstan gained independence, it decayed and collapsed. The Krasnoyarsk radar in Yeniseysk-15 under the pretext of "detente" was dismantled in 1989, despite the fact that it was practically ready for operation. On the site of the Irkutsk radar, a more modern complex has now been built.

Microelectronics

In 2009, PCB "Pyramid" (St. Petersburg) organized assembly of printed circuit boards. The design capacity is about 25,000 pieces per month. Thus, the organization ensured a full cycle of assembly of electronic products: from the manufacture of cases, to the production of the element base. The installed innovative equipment allows you to produce products that are not inferior in quality and performance to such giants of the electrical industry as Boeing, Thales, Norton-Grooman, General Dynamic, Lockhead.

The assembly of the boards includes the following steps:

• Washing of printed circuit boards.
• Selective moisture protection.
• Vacuum thermal packing.
• X-ray inspection.
• Repair (if necessary) on a semi-automatic BGA-station.
• Optical inspection.

NPP "Pyramid", St. Petersburg, carries out the following types of work:

Production

In addition to printed circuit boards, LLC "Pyramid" (St. Petersburg) produces:

• Video screens with 1.7 mm diodes pitch. Thanks to the "monolithic" design, they do not need ventilation and forced cooling. They have thermal, moisture and dust protection. Very thin, light, energy-efficient, there are no analogues in the world. Can be used separately and for the construction of seamless screens of unlimited area. Are intended for dispatching units of the enterprises, command, situational centers, sports constructions, the television companies, entertaining actions, etc.
• Video screens with a diode pitch of 2.08 mm. Have the same characteristics.
• Video screens with a diode pitch of 2.54 mm.
• Fixtures light-emitting diode. According to Russian laws, the production of incandescent lamps will be phased out step by step. To replace them, NPP "Pyramid" produces a whole range of various luminaires, differing in size, design, color coverage and power consumption. Thanks to the modern equipment used and high-quality components, the company gives a product warranty of 5 years, with a design life of 15 years.

Field of activity

OJSC "Pyramid" (St. Petersburg) participates in the maintenance and dismantling of conserved radar "Daryal" type. In addition, the company is working on other sites, but because of the secrecy they are not advertised. The company's activities extend to the districts of the Republic of Komi, Irkutsk region, Murmansk region, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Leningrad region, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan.

The main production and laboratory complex of the enterprise is located at Ordzhonikidze Street 42, in the southern part of St. Petersburg, not far from Victory Square. The location is very good, at the intersection of the main highways of "Northern Palmyra": the Moscow and Pulkovskoye Highways, Leninsky Prospect and Glory Prospects. Pulkovo Airport is 10-12 minutes away. By the way, it should not be confused with the club "Pyramid" (St. Petersburg) - these are completely different organizations.
