New life: electric guitars from old skateboards

In 2010, Nick Pourfard was injured when skating on a skateboard, and because of her could not walk six months. He needed to find something that he could do until he could move. He literally grew up on a skateboard, so every board he owned had a certain sentimental value for him. All the boards lay in his room, collecting dust. Another hobby of Nick was playing the guitar. Therefore, he decided to combine his two hobbies with a new - woodworking. Skateboards are made of painted maple panels, pressed together. Nick collected the necessary tools, looked at the instructions on the Internet and decided to turn his old skateboards into a guitar. After many trial and error, he learned how to make a functioning musical instrument out of available materials. So they created the first guitar.

He practiced his hobby in his own barn for five years, using old and broken skateboards and turning them into multi-colored electric guitars. Since the boards are subjected to severe loads during operation, they are exposed to wear and become obsolete, become unusable. Nick's goal was to find new functionality for them. In May 2015, he graduated from college and opened his own business called Prisma Guitars, in which he makes electric guitars exclusively from old skateboards.
