MR-153. Specifications МР-153

Only ten years ago, a hunter who had met in the forest would be armed with either a "tulku" or "Izhak" with a horizontal or vertical arrangement of the trunks. However, the time went on, and hunters more and more often began to buy a gas-discharge semi-automatic Izhevsk plant, known as the MP-153, which became a truly "popular" gun.

"Murka"

Today there are a lot of TOZ-87, MC21-12, "Bekasov", as well as conversion "Vepray" and "Sayg", not to mention the Turkish consumer goods or better quality but disproportionately expensive European weapons, which is advertised as "Elite". However, the hunting rifle MR-153 is a very ambiguous specimen. It has both loyal supporters and fierce opponents. And nevertheless, affectionately nicknamed "Murka" hunters, the gun is confidently leading in terms of prevalence and sales. Let's try to give an objective assessment of this weapon, which at one time became a bright novelty both in our and in the imported hunting market.

Information from the manufacturer

MP-153 is the only domestic example of a self-loading rifle. It is designed for cartridge type 12/89, but it works reliably with a whole range of cartridges of this caliber, from 70's to 89's in various combinations, without additional switching and adjustment. So the cartridges for the MP-153 can use any standard (12-caliber, equipped with both shot and bullet). Also available is a version with a barrel length of 76 mm. The weapon MP-153 is produced with a different length of barrels - from 510 to 750 mm. With a maximum barrel (750 mm), the length of the gun is 1280 mm, and the weight does not exceed 3.5 kg (it may differ depending on the material from which the bed is made). "Murka" is produced in several modifications: with replaceable barrels designed for firing steel and lead shot; Without a sighting bar with the front sight and the whole; With different options for fore and butt (beech or nut, with rubber shock absorber, made of plastic), as well as with a folding butt. The plant also produces specialized versions. For example, a service modification (MP-153 C), intended for the equipping of private security organizations, or a sports model "practice".

Design

Structural diagram of the gun: the removal of gases generated by the combustion of gunpowder, with an automatic regulator of a pulsed motor of automation. Unloading at the time of the shot of the receiver, as well as the durability and durability of locking are ensured by the coupling of the bolt directly to the barrel. The barrel box is made of special aluminum alloy. The barrel channel, piston, gas chamber, chamber, outer surface of the magazine and other parts that are exposed to the powder gas are covered with a protective layer of chromium. Piston rings and valve are made of stainless steel. The podstvolny tubular shop is improved by a special system, which performs cutoff of cartridges at the filing. The store capacity can be increased due to the extension cord. The trigger type of the shock-trigger mechanism is made in the form of a detachable node. It is equipped with a protection system that blocks the trigger when the shutter is not fully closed.

Application

MP-153 is a very versatile weapon. About hunting for feathered game and so everything is clear, because semi-automatons are much more effective than double-barrels. Engineers of the Izhevsk plant in time felt the conjuncture and as a result were able to establish the production of "Murok", intended for practical shooting. This gun, with the appropriate equipment, is suitable for law enforcement agencies. After all, a reliable smooth-bore self-loading weapon in urban conditions is much preferable to army automatic rifles. "Murka" is very compact during transportation, easy to maintain and undemanding to care, but it takes a long time to clean the gas vent circuit of the automation.

Weapon selection

This gun is a reliable weapon, which has a great resource. Thus, for athletes engaged in practical shooting, the "Murok" operating time often exceeds 30,000 shots. However, few of the hunters complain about problems with the MP-153: they got out of the package and are many and successfully hunted, without even thinking about finishing the shotgun. In any case, in order to minimize the likelihood of acquiring defective weapons, it is necessary to pay close attention to the selected product in the store. The main thing - do not be shy, you need to require the seller to produce all the copies in stock. They receive a salary for such inconveniences, and weapons, as well as a wife, must be chosen very carefully so as not to regret the choice for many years.

What do you need to pay attention to?

The most important thing is the trunk. It must be removed from the gun, wiped dry (for this rag and a ramrod is better to bring with them, as in the hunting stores with them napryazhenka). The trunk, of course, should be smooth, with a direct aiming bar, without any difference and without a pronounced "waviness" of the outer surface. Also, one should pay special attention to the alignment of the muzzle caps with the barrel - this is the most important factor of exact combat. If this part of the gun is without defects, then the rest is not so scary. Now you can smoothly distort the shutter, listening to the tactile sensations on the finger, and squeeze the trigger. Note that the length of the descent should be 3-4 mm, otherwise, by shooting in the game, you will be a little late with the shot, until you get used to this feature of the gun.

Main problems and their elimination

Bringing new weapons home, immediately (before the first hunt) to conduct a number of preventive operations with him to prevent breakages during shooting. So, the wooden stock MP-153 can split after the first shots. Therefore, it should be removed and a narrow chisel slightly deepen in the front end of the groove, which at the time of pullback enters the shank of the bolt frame. Its reach is about 6 mm, so cut the groove better with a small margin - to a depth of 8 mm. At the same time, you can slightly cut off the overhanging tree above the receiver (above all in its upper part). You can also adjust the geometry of the pistol grip. Shorten or lengthen the butt by working the front end or using a self-made gasket. The treated areas must be wiped with a cloth impregnated with linseed oil. If the MP-153 you purchased has a folding butt, then the procedures described above should not be carried out.

Also, if desired, even before the first shooting, you can take care of the metal. For example, remove burrs and sharp edges in the receiver and other parts, grind, polish the frame, the bolt, the parts of the gas outlet. And also to make a radial notch on the front of the tray for the supply of cartridges, in order to eliminate the "snacking" of the finger when the store is stuffed. Carrying out all these operations, we should not forget that all work must be done without fanaticism, adhering to the principle: "Estimate a hundred times and once change your mind."

To battle

Now you can "run" a gun. First, better to shoot a lot, say, on the banks, and preferably cartridges such as "Magnum". It is necessary that all the details and mechanisms of automation be intertwined with each other. This is a natural process, because a new gun, like a car, needs a "run-in". As a rule, after this problem when using cartridges of any types does not arise. It is not recommended to regulate the mechanisms of the gas outlet independently, it is better to leave it to specialists. Although with this part of the gun, as a rule, problems do not arise - everything works fine.

Rifle MP-153: Price

The difference in price between the domestic "Murka" and foreign analogs can reach several times, however, as it often happens, the end result from the manufacturer and the price does not depend. Usually relatively inexpensive imports can win from our "Murka" exclusively in advertising brochures, and in the field remains far behind. Yes, and weapons from Europe, which we offer in stores, as a rule, leaves much to be desired. One gets the impression that European businessmen "merge" not only poor-quality products and overdue medicines into the CIS countries, but also the entire industrial marriage. Judge for yourself, because in the commercial for some reason they will not show part of the cracked butt, rough sides of the mechanisms, a severed receiver and a burst valve. But, having bought for a huge money a gun in a hunting shop, you can see everything with your own eyes. Do not forget that most of the things that are presented in advertising as "elite" are just a consumer goods. It is much more reliable to purchase a domestic MP-153 gun. The price of it is (depending on the modification) 20-25 thousand rubles.

If you can buy a high-quality MP-153 gun in the store, then it will reliably serve you for many years. Minor defects are easily eliminated. In fact, "Murka" is a reliable and "omnivorous" weapon, which has a huge margin of safety. The MP-153 can work confidently where the eminent import fails, for example, in the taiga and tundra conditions this has been checked repeatedly. In addition, the possibility of using a variety of muzzle constrictions makes it universal. Thus, the replaceable nozzle on the MP-153 ensures the reliability of the fight, and the balance can be aligned with a lead insert in the butt.

Conclusion

To summarize, it can be noted that Murka, thanks to its low price, is included in the niche of budget weapons, which is available to virtually every hunter in our country. Despite the merits of this gun, described above, he has drawbacks. For example, a large weight (3.5 kg). Often, hunting for feathered game, it is necessary to stand for a long time with the weapon raised, waiting for the dog to raise the bird. As a result, after a few hours of such hunting, there is a strong fatigue in the left arm and back, which leads to a more prolonged throwing of the weapon.
