Mixer built-in for the bath: description, types, mounting features

Modern plumbing is characterized by attractive design, and most importantly - it does not take up much space, which allows it to be located in bathrooms and bathrooms of any size. If previously the mixer pipelines were visible, then today it is possible to install the hidden method. Built-in faucets for shower and bath are ergonomic devices that perfectly cope with their functions, remaining virtually invisible.

Design Features

The mixer built-in, as a rule, consists of two main elements: the main unit, mounted in the wall, and panels with control levers. Each product can be purchased separately, which allows you to choose the design of the decorative panel in accordance with the interior of the bathroom.

The main unit of the mixer is of the greatest interest. It is thanks to him that the flow of water is controlled. In most cases, the unit is presented in the form of a plastic cylinder, complete with a thread and a brass head with four holes. Each element has its own purpose:

  • A shower of water enters the watering can.
  • Feeding to the nozzle of the mixer of the mixed liquid.
  • Cold water supply.
  • Hot water supply.

Consider the main advantages that mixers built into the wall have.

Compactness

Naturally, for small and not very baths this device will be the best solution. And most importantly - a complete lack of protruding details. The mixer built-in takes up little space, and a flat panel with a lever or control valves will leave space for bath accessories or small household trivia.

Reliability

Particular attention is paid to manufacturers precisely the quality and reliability of built-in mixers. And it is not surprising, because the installation of this equipment is carried out in the construction of the wall with the expectation for many years, thus completing the recently completed repairs. After all, its failure implies a violation of the integrity of the coating.

Comfort in use

Built-in shower faucets will turn water procedures into a pleasant and easy exercise. You will no longer be afraid to turn around and break the protruding part in the shower or, worse, get hurt. In this case, just a couple of simple turns or clicks - and the flow of water is adjusted in the right direction.

Design

It's silly to deny that the mixer built-in looks very stylish. The conciseness of the design, in which there are no unnecessary details, will decorate the bathroom like a design installation. Use such a device is a pleasure.

Economical

When trying to adjust the necessary temperature regime at one time, we spend 5 liters of fluid and 7 seconds of time. This problem is most relevant for apartments equipped with meters. This situation will help to fix the installation of a built-in thermostat mixer.

Special appointment

In some situations, only a mixer of this type can approach, it is important to remember this. For example, the need for a function "tropical shower", which assumes the availability of this equipment.

Shower mixer

Built-in shower mixers are structurally different from traditional devices and are installed primarily in cabins.

This model does not provide spilling, which is logical in principle - it is not required for a shower box, the shower head with a hose is enough. As a result, a mixer of this type is equipped with one inlet (into which the shower hose is connected) and two output (to which water is supplied, cold and hot).

Also, there are built-in hygienic shower faucets installed next to the toilet, they allow you to completely replace the bidet. As a rule, the kit includes a mixer for flush mounting and a shower head with a hose that are installed in the wall construction. These models also do not provide spilling.

Bath mixer

Built-in bath mixer implies a rather unusual installation option - its installation is carried out directly on the side of the bath, in the most convenient place, and this is its undeniable advantage. In addition, this model has a number of undeniable advantages:

  • The ability to hide the hose from the shower head from the shower head and pull it out as needed.
  • The space on the wall is released, which can be used to install a shelf for storing bathroom accessories.
  • The bathing time is greatly reduced, due to the fact that this device provides an optimal mode of water supply.

The built-in bath mixer can be of two types, differing in the way of installation. Equipment for external installation is a monolithic unit, which is fixed to the edge of the bath. In this case, the water mixing unit hides under the side of the bath. Flush mounting devices allow only spilling and control panel to remain on the surface, everything else hides under the bathroom.

Devices with thermostat

Thanks to modern production technologies, flush-mounted mixers can be equipped with various intelligent functions, which brings additional comfort to our lives.

One of these novelties, which should be addressed in more detail, is a thermostat or automatic temperature controller. This element allows to maintain a given temperature regime of water regularly.

After starting the water supply, automatic temperature control takes place, which takes literally a fraction of a second.

In some models of built-in mixers it is possible to connect a thermostat, which can be purchased separately.

Installation

To install a built-in faucet for the bathroom, you will need to create a groove in the wall. As a rule, its diameter is 120-150 mm, and the depth is 85-110 mm. For these purposes, a perforator with a nozzle for concrete is used.

Strokes are made for pipelines. But before doing this, you should choose a place for mounting the spout and watering can. Shtroby are laid from the planned points to the main block of the mixer. It is important to note that the branch pipes in this design that drain water should not intersect with water pipes.

It is also necessary to lay the shtroby for the pipeline, through which water is supplied to the mixer, they must be pierced from the floor. But if you plan to wall plasterboard, the need for strobing disappears.

The built-in bathroom faucet is permanently connected to the pipeline, since all detachable connections are reliable elements. Due to the fact that the threaded connections and the central unit are mounted in the wall, higher requirements are imposed on the installation. All connections must be as reliable as possible.

For the mixer built-in to last as long as possible, there are no breakages during operation, special attention should be paid to the material of pipelines that are mounted in the wall. It is not recommended to use metal-plastic pipes, because they use threaded joints and press fittings. It is recommended to give preference to polypropylene and copper products. Naturally, their installation is characterized by some complexity, but as a result, the design will be more reliable.

Leading manufacturers

The market traditionally is considered to be the best plumbing from European manufacturers, and the mixers of concealed installation are not an exception:

  • Plumbing equipment of Italian manufacture has gained popularity: Jacuzzi, Albatros, Teuco.
  • German built-in mixers have got a good reputation: Hansa, Ideai Standart, Grohe, Kludi, Hoesch, Duravit.
  • Flush mounting devices of good quality are produced by firms in France, Denmark and Finland: Jacob Delafon, Damixa, Oras.
